It’s been a long time coming and it feels more ME than ever before. Oteea Land’s new minimalistic look is a little project me and my husband have been working on and off (mostly off ^_^) over the past year, and although in the meantime the blogosphere fell deeply in love with this kind of black-and-white designs, I honestly couldn’t have pictured my blog looking any other way.
When thinking about the perks of living in a popular city, the first thing that comes to mind is the abiding sensation that you’re on continuous vacation whenever you’re venturing for a long walk on the narrow streets, particularly if that walk happens to take place on a perfect Sunday evening. And although you may come to believe that you know the city by heart, there will always be one beautiful door, one window brimming with flowers, one little corner with its colors slowly fading away, that will make it all look new and exciting again.
I’ll make this a very quick post to let everyone know that I am very much alive ^_^ but have entered what is another crazy busy month, with new projects, new plans, new time-consuming activities.
A personal blog is perhaps the closest thing there is to witnessing someone’s metamorphosis, which is truly a thing of beauty. If you’re anything like me, you most definitely can’t grasp the idea of settling for things as they are. I live to grow, to learn something new every day, to try and see the world through different eyes, to evolve, to constantly push myself, even if it’s with the small things.
As women, we go through many different stages of confidence, with days when we feel like we can conquer the world, and others when little about us actually feels right. To find a perfect balance between the two and stick with it, would be ideal. I for one, could never fake the way I’m feeling, so it’s often when I find myself losing confidence over all kinds of reasons. And clothes have a lot to do with it.
When I was a little girl, one of my favorite questions to ask people around me was the following: what color would you choose, if you would be forced to pick one hue only, to wear for the rest of your life? My picks have long changed ever since, but at the moment, I would have a hard time choosing between white (which I know it’s not exactly a color) and blue, all kinds of blue, to mix and match and to never get tired of.
I believe in simplicity above anything else, and that’s something not likely to change in the foreseeable future. During my busiest & most overwhelming times, it’s in simplicity where I find my balance. I just love the feeling of ease and the sense of freedom an oversized shirt and a pair of jeans give you, particularly when you’re on the run. Like we were yesterday, caught in between running errands, shopping at the farmer’s market for fresh fruits, shooting some pictures for the blog, all right before the storm was about to hit.
