It was all about sparkles, glitter and glamour at the 2012 Met Gala, held on Monday evening in New York City. But who shined the most at the event? Let me know your thoughts on last night’s big fashion frenzy. Until then I’ll take a wild guess.
Cameron Diaz had a magic evening last night, thanks to her shimmering champagne Stella McCartney gown, with diamond crystal embroidered, long sleeves and a sexy draped back. The actress styled her elegant appearance with Fred Leighton round brilliant-cut diamond drop earrings and a Stella McCartney perforated clutch. An edgy up do and impeccable make up added the final touches.
Jessica Alba was a vision in gold on the Met Gala‘s Red Carpet, as she posed all smiles in front of the photographers in a metallic Michael Kors one shoulder lame drapped gown, that fit her to perfection. A complementary Roger Vivier Pilgrim Coeur clutch and Wilfredo Rosado gold jewels, styled the beautiful appearance. 1940’s inspired side-swept curls and a dark red lip color accented the old Hollywood style vibes.
Karolina Kurkova made quite a dramatic entrance on the Red Carpet, as she posed for minutes – supermodel style, working the breathtaking rose gold Rachel Zoe design that she was wearing. The statuesque gown that featured a high neck, long sleeves and an open back was teamed with a matching turban, a gold clutch and luxurious jewelry. Definitely, a night to remember.
The 2012 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival held at The Empire Polo Field in Indio, California, kicked off on Friday, April 13th. Each year, the music festival brings together Hollywood stars who love to put their laid back off duty outfits on to sing and dance along with the crowds.
Not everyone managed to look effortless and cool during the first weekend, but a couple of celebrities stood out thanks to their flawless style, by putting together comfortable, yet chic festival looks.
Actress Diane Kruger embraced the Coachella spirit alongside boyfriend Joshua Jackson, wearing Stella McCartney and Lacoste Spring 2012 looks.
On Saturday, April 14, Diane attended the Lacoste L!ve‘s desert pool party at the 2012 Coachella Music Festival. She rocked the color blocking trend by wearing a cute Lacoste Spring 2012 tunic, that she paired with the celebrity favorite pair of Isabel Marant Dicker suede ankle boots in brown.
A cross body leather bag, a selection of colorful bracelets and a natural toned make-up finished off the chic look.
On Sunday, April 15, Diane and Joshua enjoyed the third day of the festival in matching stripe outfits, looking sweet and fashionable in Indio, California. Diane paired her Hawaiian-style loose-fitting Stella McCartney Palm Blurred-Print dress, with the same Isabel Marant Dicker suede ankle boots and the same cross body bag worn the previous day.
Minimal jewelry, a thin studded leather belt and a messy fishtail braid complemented Diane’s festival look.
How adorable are they?
I wish I could say that the Easter weekend was all about relaxation, peace and quiet, but with all the fluster and the arrangements, it turned out to be quite the opposite.
But before I could even begin recharging my batteries, I need to pay special attention to some of the outfits I missed out during this Holiday break.
On April 13, designer Stella McCartney hosted the premiere of Paul McCartney’s music video “My Valentine” at the West Hollywood Stella McCartney boutique. An impressive amount of Hollywood stars joined the celebration, all dressed to impress in a series of looks signed by the British designer.
The fairest of them all, singer Gwen Stefani, looked effortless chic whilst flaunting her perfect silhouette in a Stella McCartney Fall 2011 number.
The daring black silk jumpsuit with sheer inserts, featured a long-sleeve top with a peplum waist and side-panel stretch trousers. A classic pair of Christian Louboutin Pigalle Point-Toe pumps, a metallic clutch and gold jewelry accessorized the look.
Gwen completed her signature style with a messy bun, red lips and a red nail polish, just the right amount of bold color. It’s not an easy look to pull off, but luckily Gwen was impeccable.
Since the last time I had the chance to write about her, Miss Riri went back to black and started promoting Battleship around the world, the action/sci-fi movie in which she stars as Raikes, an FBI espionage agent.
Keeping the Red Carpet balanced for the premieres, Rihanna assumed the more masculine style, whilst her co-star, actress Brooklyn Decker, is the one delivering the charmingly feminine looks.
Although I was excited to follow Rihanna during this promo tour, sadly I cannot say I fell head over heels for any of her looks up until now. For the Sydney Premiere though, the singer looked ultra chic donning a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2012 number.
Her black stretch tuxedo inspired jumpsuit was teamed with a simple pair of black Manolo Blahnik sandals.
Powerful red lips, colorless nails with black stiletto tips, gold accessories and a classic bun with long bangs, complemented her simple yet sophisticated look.
Slowly, but surely I get to write about everyone I love on this blog, even if it’s right on time or slightly delayed. One of my favorite singers in the world, since like I can even remember, had a couple of busy days in New York City this week, showcasing her incredible post-baby figure, as well as her unique sense of style.
On March 19, Beyonce attended the fundraiser hosted by first lady Michelle Obama, where tickets started at $5,000, raising cash for the Obama Victory Fund.
For the special occasion, the new mommy wore a navy Victoria Beckham V-Neck Sheath dress, with three-quarter sleeves and double front patch pockets. She paired the fitting dress with Nicholas Kirkwood Satin and Glitter sandals and accessorized with a Lanvin Spring 2012 Eagle Long necklace.
A blue nail polish, a sleek ponytail and flawless make-up completed the ravishing look.
On Thursday, Beyonce was spotted in New York City, heading into an office building and wearing a beautiful floral Spring look.
Bee teamed the Stella McCartney Resort 2012 Hawaiian-print silk trousers, with a black shirt and accented the look with a hot pink Bottega Veneta intrecciato leather detailing belt and yellow pumps.
Gold hoop earrings, a sleek ponytail and sunglasses finished up the multicolored look.
We already talked these last couple of weeks, about the importance of a cute blazer in our wardrobe, for a stylish 2012. This item is becoming more and more of a big fashion statement this year, as celebrities are choosing to showcase beautiful such pieces, at events and even off duty. Colorful or classy black, you can’t go wrong with introducing it, into your closet. It’s the easiest way to look chic, classy and trendy at the same time.
Miss Kristen Dunst was spotted wearing a beautiful sunflower yellow boyfriend blazer, at the Rodarte Dinner in Los Angeles. She paired the Stella McCartney relaxed tailored creation, with a pair of Rodarte Spring 2012 floral metallic brocade pants. Florals + bold colors yet again, I’m excited about the beautiful, summery year that 2012 is going to be, following these trends. Gold Jimmy Choo India sandals completed the elegant look.
Kate Beckinsale (twice in a day and not on purpose) on the other hand, was spotted leaving her house, looking chic in a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2011 triple-lapel tuxedo jacket. The black wool design, was teamed with black leather pants (one must love this combination) and the Fendi Fendista platform pumps.
And there you have it, colorful versus all-black, the bold way to wear it versus the classy way, plenty of inspiration. If you haven’t already, add the blazer to your 2012 Must Have List.
The beautiful Charlize Theron was a a guest at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on December 12, in order to promote her latest movie entitled “Young Adult“.
The recently Golden Globe nominee ( for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy – Young Adult ) chose to wear a look from the Dior Resort 2012 collection (pretty popular these last days).
For a more elegant approach, Charlize paired the floor length polka-dot dress with a black blazer signed Stella McCartney and accessorized with Melinda Maria 18K gold-plated Nail Head Bangles.
A soft updo and a pair of Reed Krakoff Boxer sandals completed the look.
