Thank God I didn’t like all the dresses spotted last evening on the 2012 Met Gala‘s Red Carpet, because choosing my favorites of the night wasn’t as easy as I would have hoped. With a different story hiding behind every dress, with so many favorite stars and favorite designers in one single place, the task seemed almost impossible.
Sofia Vergara stayed true to her gorgeous signature style by sporting a silver-embellished hourglass Marchesa gown from the Spring 2012 collection. The opulent design that featured a strapless bodice, a peplum waist and crystal beading was teamed with Harry Winston jewels. A sleek center part and fuchsia pink lipstick perfected the appearance.
Camilla Belle wowed me as she took on the Red Carpet for the 2012 Met Gala, by channeling the 1920’s Hollywood glamour like no one else could. The actress donned a pearl deco-inspired Ralph Lauren Spring 2012 gown with a daring plunging neckline and a low cut back. Diamond jewels, a silver clutch, a rich plum lip gloss and a sleek side-part chignon provided the finishing touches.
Lana Del Ray joined the A-list celebrities for the 2012 Met Gala as a Joseph Altuzarra guest and obviously wearing the designer’s creation. Her ensemble, consisting of a silver and black hand-embroidered floor length gown and a black silk cape best represented her music and her taste for dramatic, vampy appearances. Minimal jewelry, deep plum colored lips, soft curls and a darker hair color completed the magical entrance.
I could sit here and pretend, wish or dream that I have all the time in the world and all the energy I need to post about every single fashion show I loved, talk trends and favorite looks for Fall 2012 without any concerns, but the truth is … I could never pull it off, not this season. Time is clearly not by my side, and as it is … I am awfully behind, as the Fashion Week madness is slowly approaching an end.
With so much going on, I decided that the best way for me to do this… is by keeping things simple and making round ups of my favorite shows and looks.
This will close the New York Fashion Week and includes the following designers: Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Preen and Ralph Lauren.
Oscar de la Renta
I’m developing a mild Taylor Swift obsession lately, aren’t I ? Well, it’s a good thing she’s a sophisticated lady than, otherwise who knows what examples of good taste I would be constantly giving you ? I love the fact that she is such a girlie girl no matter the circumstances, and today, I was inspired by this feminine, yet comfortable looking outfit, that the singer wore on January 29, whilst shopping a flea market. Can’t wait for summer to arrive, I’m tired of wearing layers and layers of clothes !
Delicate crochet and lace dresses make an interesting trend you could follow this year, as they easily transcend from day to evening and night, and could be the perfect choice either for a morning walk, an afternoon at the beach, or an evening out celebrating.
I used : JAX – Elbow-Sleeved Crochet Dress; Old Navy – Women’s Crossbody Saddle Purses; Mango – Own Necklace In Coral; Monsoon – Simple Skinny Belt; FRYE – Women’s Maya Woven Peep Pump .
Taylor Swift is wearing an Anthropologie dress, a Ralph Lauren purse and FRYE peep pumps, the same I used in the inspired outfit.
Pretty, pretty things.
From powerful red, to bright yellow, color, color and more color for 2012, remember that. On Saturday night, Camilla Belle was one of the guests attendees at the 2012 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala at Union Station in Los Angeles and I’m still trying to figure out what drawn me to her look, was it the dress, the color, the back of the dress … ? What’s certain, is that the talented actress wore a Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 gown for the Black Tie event.
The lemony yellow Satin Contrast-Waist Gown, with vertical strips adorning the V neckline and back, was teamed with Ralph Lauren sandals, Van Cleef jewelry and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.
Flawless make up, a soft coral lip color and a high ponytail finished the look.
Now that I get to post about Taylor Swift’s Sidewalk Style, I suddenly realize I have pretty much loved most of the outfits she wears on a daily bases. I think they are so feminine, cute and she wears them with such easiness that she is really becoming inspiring.
Taylor wore a Ralph Lauren Sweater, a Modcloth Skirt and a Fendi Purse. I got a little bit creative and with this outfit it mind I pictured my version of this look with less expensive Asos items :
Do you find Taylor’s looks inspiring also ?
