It’s August, but the Sun didn’t get the memo yet, so it pretty much still feels like July outside. And I can’t seem to be able to enjoy it anymore. It may be way to soon for this, but I already started dreaming about Fall: Fall weather, Fall colors, Fall layers, cuddling beneath warm blankets, drinking hot chocolate and tea … everything sounds amazing to me right now. And the rain, oh how I miss the rainy days!
I can’t wait to start upgrading my Fall wardrobe in the following months, so here are some ideas that I wanted to share with you today. For more looks like these ones, feel free to check my Pinterest inspiration board.
I wish you all a wonderful week darlings and I’ll be back in a couple of days. I would love to hear your thoughts so feel free to leave a comment. I’d better start working already. Much love, O.
With the launch of Christopher Kane’s collection for Versus, this trend really started kicking-off early last year and kept getting stronger over the fall and winter of 2010. Now with just a couple of weeks apart from 2012, we are still into this trend no matter if we’re talking about the mini “school-girl-like” pleated skirt, the maxi version or even the midi length one – a true statement piece for fall and winter days.
The variety of lengths and textures, only confirm this item as a must, being so functional and working in so many combinations.
There are so many beautiful such skirts that it was quite hard to make a selection and what I finally did was to split my choices into two, designer choices first and most affordable Asos options second :
I used : Rag & Bone – Ezra pleated leather mini skirt ; J.W. Anderson – Pleated wool kilt ; Christopher Kane – Pleated silk-blend lamé skirt ; Halston Heritage – Knife-pleat georgette skirt ; Alexander McQueen – Pleated wool-felt mini skirt ; Halston Heritage – Accordion-pleated chiffon maxi skirt all from Net A Porter.
I liked : A|Wear Animal Pleated Skirt ; Whistles Pleated Carrie Skirt ; Coast Coralie Pleated Maxi Skirt .
To get a little more inspired let’s see how the fashionistas love to wear this skirts on the city streets :
And of course a little bit of celebrity inspiration :
Let me know what you think ? Do you own a pleated skirt ?
