Sometimes the best outfits turn out to be the ones you put together in the spare of the moment, the ones that are made of garments that beg to be worn together, the ones that you can trust to look just as chic as they are effortless and comfortable. Ever since going for more of a curated wardrobe, I’ve crossed many items off my wishlist, items that make it easy to endlessly mix and match (which you know I totally adore doing), items that according to me should belong in all closets, much like a cool leather jacket, a pair of black jeans, a striped top and a wool hat.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far, now that it’s starting to actually feel like summer. I for one am getting ready to join our friends for an evening barbeque just as I write this. I really need the time off, away from the computer & the TV (we just started watching 24 and it is kind of addictive) to just talk, eat & relax a bit. This means I won’t bore you too much today, but I will leave you with these bright and lovely photographs that truly epitomize summer in my eyes with all the white, yellow, gold, sunny weather & empty little streets.
Thank you for reading, I’m sending lots of love and I will see you on Facebook, Instagram & Pinterest ♥ ♥ ♥
I’m not very good at finding that perfect balance to define my life, so I’m usually either running out of time for all the things I need to be doing, or I indulge in too many of those lazy days, making up for them eventually with less hours of sleep per night and a tighter schedule. But from time to time, I like to put everything on break and go away for a little while. If possible. This past weekend we visited our precious niece for the first time and the entire trip there was incredibly beautiful and soothing. That explains the longer absence on the blog, but despite missing it terribly, I still needed those few days to reset the equilibrium.
Other than that, I try to make the best out of this beautiful weather, I try to keep away from dark colors and I still love to wear my red lipstick together with my red hat. Hope everyone has a great week so far ♥ ♥ ♥
After a few days of rest, of intensively watching “The Killing”, of reading and thoroughly enjoying what felt like short amounts of rain spread over an extremely hot couple of evenings, I finally got my batteries recharged once again. I tend to escape the world like this, once in a while, leave Facebook, instagram, unread mails behind and enjoy nothing but the company of my husband and of our adorable little furball. I cherish these moments, but resuming my activity after such a break feels wonderful nonetheless.
A broken doll, that’s the first thing I thought about upon watching these pictures we shot the other week. It must be the constant movement, the way I walk, something pointing me in that direction. I remember it being awfully hot that afternoon, so I moved a lot out of fear of actually melting. The shoot didn’t last long, hence the small amount of pictures. Halfway to the weekend, I’m wishing you to enjoy the last days of summer ♥
Needless to point out that the beautiful weather we experienced over the week-end lured us out of the house in no time, as the sun and the clear skies begged for a little escapade. We chose to visit an abandoned church that is located somewhere outside the city and the day couldn’t have turned out better. I fell in love with the ruins, with the beautiful landscape, with the history. Without mentioning the fact that walking in shorts, without the weight of a jacket on my shoulders and with no heels felt like a total blessing.
I guess it was also high time to switch the focus back on orange, one of my all-time favorite colors that made its way into my closet yet again! Hope you enjoy the pictures, thank you so much for all of your lovely comments, they mean the world and here’s to a great start of the week! Happy Monday! ♥
Even if I go to sleep quite late almost every night, I have trouble falling asleep right away so I usually have to think about all the things pretty in the world to help speed the process. If I happen to know that the next day I’ll take some pictures for an outfit post, I love to use that time to think about what I could wear, that’s if nothing is planned already. And this is what I came up with last night. Ta-da !! I made use of my green maxi skirt that I’ve worn only a couple of times this summer and I added a lot of black. To prevent myself from looking like an evil queen, I sweetened the outfit up with my favorite headband and my floral sneakers.
Reading too many fashion blogs and spending an awful amount of time on other related sites can sometimes be so overwhelming .The amount of inspiration I take in on daily bases it’s too large for my own good, as I constantly change my perspective and my view on what I would actually wear. Things used to be so simple a few years back when I hated dresses, skirts and heels ^_^
