The time to write about a favorite Victoria Beckham look has arrived today, as I was finally impressed by her latest appearance during the Lane Crawford Event, held in Hong Kong on April 25.
Other than striking her signature pose at the event, Victoria was picture perfect in a mix of Victoria Beckham and Miu Miu numbers.
Her white tailored pencil dress, featuring simple lines and accented by a white belt, was teamed with a light blue long-sleeved Miu Miu mini cardigan featuring embroidery in contrasting color.
Nude Christian Louboutin pumps and minimal gold jewelry styled the look.
Flawless make up and a sweet side-swept braid provided the finishing touches.
Here comes the Princess, or should we call her a soon to be ex-Princess ? Even if Blair’s royal journey was far from perfect, the understated elegance that comes with the title, put a definite imprint on her style this season.
Spotted on the Gossip Girl Set yesterday, the lovely Leighton Meester looked polished, yet flirty in her colorful outfit, filming scenes for the next episodes.
Giving life to a character that never shy away from color, nor print, Leighton took on a feminine look once again, by wearing this bright colored floral dress, a modified Peter Som Spring 2012 number.
A previously worn pair of Miu Miu‘s glossy patent leather Mary Jane Platform Loafer pumps and a Stella McCartney Chalk Grace Faux Nappa And Fluo Cross Body bag, complemented both the dress, and the classic silhouette of the yellow coat.
The entire look was styled with a three strand pearl necklace, a soft up do and impeccable make up.
Blue hair, still there. What changed ? Katy Perry‘s perspective on fashion, or at least, so it seems. Ditching her usual fun, crazy and colorful outfits, Katy looked polished and beautiful, again, as she joined the other celebrities for the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, sparkling in Blumarine.
The sumptuous floor length short sleeved silk tulle gown, with silver and black sequins adornments and a sheer neckline, was paired with Miu Miu shoes and a petite box clutch.
To accessorize the dress, Katy chose Diamond in the Rough iceberg jewelry.
Her signature blue bob was styled super smooth, with the hair ends curled upward. Katy finished the look with soft minty green and aqua eyeshadow, and glossy lips.
On February 14, Leighton Meester attended The Woman Dress Screening, directed by Giada Colagrande, in New York City, which is the third part of the Miu Miu’s The Women’s Tale, a series of short films, exploring the feminine love affair with Miu Miu.
For the special occasion, the Gossip Girl actress opted for a modified version, of a Prada Spring 2012 look.
Comparing it with the original design, Leighton’s modified version of the dress, showcased a rather minimal print, placed on both sides of the dress, a deeper V-line and a fresh lemony color for the pleated skirt. The darling retro look, was accessorized by a pair of pointy nude pumps, a gold David Yurman Confetti 5-Row bracelet and a red Prada Mini Half-Flap Crossbody bag.
Red hot lips, plus a chic up-do complemented the look. I liked it a lot.
That same evening, Miu Miu launched their new Culte Sunglasses Collection, glasses with pentagonal-shaped frames,a brushed gold finish and dark brown lenses. Leighton took the opportunity to try some on, Vogue style, revealing her also amazingly beautiful David Yurman Albion ring.
It’s been a while since I have done my latest Essentials episode, almost a month actually, and I quite forgot how fun it is to mix and match brands, colors, fabrics. I said fun, but it is also an extremely time consuming activity, maybe just for me, as I get caught in the “research” and sometimes forget to put a stop to it.
Skipping to the point, this forth episode has all three looks based on a piece that proves to be absolutely necessary in ones wardrobe : the black blazer. I happen to love blazers no matter the color, but somehow the black one seems to be the classic way to go and there’s nothing wrong with sticking to the classics, now and then. You must have already heard by now that old piece of “shopping” advice, that suggests to always think of possible ways to mix an item, with the clothing already in our closet, right before we purchase it and we find at least one combination, it’s safe to know we will actually be wearing that particular item. Well, when buying a black blazer, there’s no need to worry about all that, as you will be able to find a match for it, in a heart beat.
Enough with the bla bla, let’s skip to the important part, the three looks :
I used : Current/Elliot – The Stiletto low-rise cropped skinny jeans ; Maison Martin Margiela – Stretch-wool blazer ; Splendid – Cotton and modal-blend top ; Nixon – Time Teller ceramic watch ; Dominic Jones – Scarab Dragonfly 23-karat white gold-plated ring ; Mulberry – Bayswater textured-leather bag ; Miu Miu – Suede pumps.
I used : Vionnet – Matte-satin dress ; Maison Martin Margiela – Stretch-wool blazer ; Bottega Veneta – Blackened oxidized-silver shell necklace ; Falke – Pure Matt 100 denier black tights ; Church’s – Classic Burwood glossy leather brogues ; Anya Hindmarch – Mini Gracie leather shoulder bag.
I used : Eddie Borgo – Silver-plated turquoise spike earrings ; Maison Martin Margiela – Stretch-wool blazer ; Burberry Prorsum – Beaded textured-leather wristlet clutch ; Christian Louboutin – Gril 120 patent-leather sandals ; Diane Von Furstenberg – Mara asymmetric sequined silk top ; Todd Lynn – Herault crepe and leather skinny pants.
Needless to say you can find all of the items on Net-A-Porter.
It doesn’t have to be necessarily silk because nothing speaks elegance better than a classic white (or cream washed) shirt. It is an essential piece of our wardrobe whether we love it or not, whether we wore it just at work or try to fit it smartly in our daily looks.
In order to avoid leaving the shirt just hanging in the closet, let’s try to find some ways to put a twist into wearing it.
The first look it’s casual chic :
I used : Equipment – Brett washed-silk shirt ; Monica Vinader – Marie 18-karat gold-plated disc necklace ; Marc By Marc Jacobs – Leather and corduroy knee boots ; Gucci – Leather-trimmed tweed mini skirt ; Milly – Kiki shearling and patent-leather bag ; Spanx – Tight End high-waisted gray tights .
Second look – Colorful + Trendy
I used : Equipment – Brett washed-silk shirt ; Proenza Schouler – PS1 Large leather satchel ; Joseph – Ervan stretch-leather skinny pants ; Belle Sigerson Morrison – Shearling and suede ankle boots ; Isharya – Jaisel 18-karat gold-plated lapis lazuli ring ; Preen Line – Shearling-trimmed wool-blend cardigan.
Third and final look – Paaaaaarty like a Rockstar !
I used : Equipment – Brett washed-silk shirt ; Erickson Beamon – Neon lucite and diamanté crystal earrings ; Wolford – Twin pack of Velvet de Luxe 66 tights ; Halston Heritage – Paillette-embellished shorts ; Anya Hindmarch – Valorie glitter-finish leather clutch ; Elizabeth and James – Sammy leather-trimmed crepe tuxedo blazer ; Miu Miu – Lace-up leather ankle boots .
Hope you enjoyed ! XO
Winter is a great season for gathering with your girlfriends, talk about everything or anything whilst drinking a cup of hot tea (or hot chocolate in my case). Think of a warm cozy place and then imagine yourself relaxed, sitting comfortable but of course looking great. That’s the main inspiration for today’s OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) : a look meant to keep warm, look good, feel good.
I chose all of my items from NET-A-PORTER only because it feels like the dream closet : full of everything hip, high-end and extremely diverse. But all of these items can be easily replaced (I hope) with the ones from our own wardrobe, so that shouldn’t stop you from trying.
I used : Jonathan Saunders – Fair Isle knitted cotton sweater; Miu Miu – Matelassé leather bag; Rag & Bone – Portobello washed-leather shorts; Falke – Pure Matt 100 denier black tights; Antonio Berardi – Oversized shearling coat; Jimmy Choo – Youth leather biker boots.
Looks pretty cozy doesn’t it ?
I hope you enjoyed this post.
