This is the story of the pretty little black dress that I planned on wearing for New Year’s Eve. Sadly, the package I’ve been so eagerly awaiting for the entire month of December got lost, but here I am, five months later, getting to actually wear the dreamy dress on a rainy spring Monday that completely felt like a Sunday.I guess that feeling was amplified by the fact that I got to walk the busy streets dressed like I was going to attend a party, when in reality I only got out of the house to take some pictures and buy some groceries ^_^
I adore the dress though, and I cannot wait to wear it on a more fitted occasion, with heels and all.
I hope everyone fully enjoys this last week of May! Thank you for reading, much love ♥ ♥ ♥
The first post on my new blog. Excitement and also a lot of thoughts that occupied my mind.
There was a lot to choose from, in matter of subject of course, but I decided to transform this first step into an homage, brought to someone I truly admire, to someone special that left her print on the Fashion world forever. A true Style Icon.
Needless to say that the adorable and most beautiful British woman of all time that I am talking about is the legendary Audrey Hepburn.
In terms of fashion, you cannot think of Audrey Hepburn and not instantly think of the classic “Little Black Dress” that was part of her memorable chic style. Having to thank her for that great legacy, as the piece stands as a “must have” in anyone’s essential wardrobe by now, we might also want to thank her for one particular cozy & comfortable pair of shoes. Swimming against the stream, in an era where heels & pumps were not so comfortable, but yet they were every woman’s graceful choice, Audrey started to pair her outfits, with the never really out of style “Ballet Flats”. Let’s not forget about the “Cat-Eyes Sunglasses”, an item that unmistakable, still wears the subtle signature of the One & Only Audrey and that we all still love so much.
The oversized hats, the black cigarette pants, the pearls, the great name of Givenchy, all that and so much more keeps reminding us that once upon a time there was a lady who never thought of herself as an icon, and yet today she is “THE ICON” for so many of us.
