Going through last night’s pictures one more time this morning, might have changed my perspective on some of the gowns that caught my eye at first glance, whilst other dresses grew on me slowly but surely.
Carey Mulligan paid an homage to Prada, by wearing her design during the big night that set Carey co-chair for the 2012 Met Gala, alongside designer Miuccia Prada and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The gold and silver toned fish-scale halterneck dress embellished with paillettes was paired with Prada satin pumps. A chic up do, smokey eyes and nude lips styled Carey”s dazzling appearance.
Nina Dobrev secured herself a well deserved spot on the best dressed of the night list, when she decided to step out in this sumptuous Donna Karan Atelier one shoulder silver and black custom gown, that featured a long dreamy train and a chic open back with draping details. The beautiful actress accessorized her heavy gown with Jimmy Choo heels and H. Stern jewelry. A classic up do and flawless make up made for a memorable appearance.
Rihanna went for another black moment on the Red Carpet, when she chose this bold, tight, crocodile skin applique gown wearing the signature of designer Tom Ford. Riri styled the long sleeved dress with simple black pumps, minimal jewelry and ultra long black nails. Her signature make up and a funky hair do added up to the sultry look.
The Night of the 1000 Dresses aka The 2012 Met Gala was filled with breathtaking moments, as the A-list Hollywood celebrities took on the Red Carpet looking flawless whilst embracing high fashion, true art and the unbeatable New York spirit.
Tangerine was also a hit color on the celebrity filled Red Carpet last night (May 7).
Ginnifer Goodwin looked ultra feminine in her custom Monique Lhuillier tangerine silk chiffon cap sleeve creation, featuring a central slit and a beautiful beaded detailing on the upper bodice. Brian Atwood pumps which I’m not crazy about, H. Stern jewelry and a Tiffany & Co. clutch styled the appearance. Ginnifer opted to sport her sleek signature pixie cut and gorgeous make up.
Katharine McPhee sparkled amongst the important guests of the 2012 Met Gala as she was wearing a tangerine Georgette fully embroidered gown with a deep square neckline created by Elie Saab. An orange belt to accent the waist line, gold jewelry and a bronze Christian Louboutin Pliage clutch accessorized the bright look. Complementary make up and a chic up do finished off the look.
Kristen Bell stepped on the Red Carpet in a lovely floor length Tommy Hilfiger orange crinkle silk chiffon gown, that featured a crisscross halter neckline and waist ruching. Jimmy Choo heels, vintage Van Cleef and Arpels jewels, and a Judith Leiber clutch in gold, complemented the perfect appearance. Shiny locks and minimal make-up provided the finishing touches.
With Spring in mind and Summer at heart, I can finally dream about the moment I’ll be able to wear a dress and not feel cold, not even a bit.
Always in search for inspiration in the dress department, I came across this picture with actress Dianna Agron, spotted in New York City the other day, looking absolutely wonderful in an Alice + Olivia dress.
The blue and yellow Reese flower printed fit-and-flare box pleat day dress, was paired with navy Jimmy Choo Cosmic Platform pumps and a classic black wool coat. Don’t you just adore the sunflower print?
Flawless make up, delicate stud earrings and a soft up do, finished up this sweet and feminine look.
Sunflowers – check, inspiration – check.
For May of 2012, Vogue UK chose the stunning Charlize Theron as their stylish cover girl. Portraying pure elegance in the spread shot by Patrick Demarchelier, for the interview the Young Adult actress opened up about her recently adopted baby boy, talked her movie characters and her modeling days back in the ’90s.
In the cover shoot, Charlize is wearing a Versace Spring 2012 pleated silk dress with a thigh high split, nude Jimmy Choo leather pumps and Dicha resin crystal and quartz earrings.
It is no surprise that the entire make up was realized using Christian Dior Makeup products.
The magic in the hair department was released form the creative hands of Enzo Angileri / Tony&Guy.
The newest issue of Vogue UK hits the newsstands on April 9. Are you excited to see the rest of the spread?
Before heading towards what’s new at the beginning of this week, I would really like to go back to last Friday night, when the lovely Minka Kelly, attended amongst other celebrities, the Opening of Australia’s Marquee Nightclub, at The Star in Pyrmont, Sydney.
I couldn’t have missed her rock-chic, soft and hard look, mixing an edgy half-sleeve J Brand Baez Leather top with a fun pair of Dolce & Gabbana Print Stretch Cotton pants.
Other bold pops of color were added by the Jimmy Choo Vibe blue watersnake peep-toe platform pumps and by the yellow Jimmy Choo Cosma patent clutch.
Minka styled her look using the Cartier Love Bracelet, a red nail polish and long bouncy waves.
Olivia Wilde was one of the many celebs to attend the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, held on February 26, at the Sunset Tower hotel in Hollywood, California. The actress dressed to impress that night, and she did amaze everyone with her demure Gucci gown.
The strapless black silk gown, with a classic sillouethe, had a beautiful black crystal and sequin-encrusted dragonfly motif belt and was paired with the Jimmy Choo Katima sandals.
The elegant look was accessorized with a Salvatore Ferragamo Evy Chain clutch, diamond studs and gold jewelry, featuring a double gold choker necklace.
A slick high bun, bronze eyeshadow and glossy lips, add to the classy look.
Oh WOW … that was my first thought upon seeing Gwyneth Paltrow, donning her minimalist Tom Ford look, on February 26, during the 2012 Academy Awards. Due to her simplistic, yet majestic sillouethe, Gwyneth outshined everyone at the event. Such a vision.
By opting to wear a white chic column dress with clean lines, and a stylish cape, Gwyneth made her appearance feel sophisticated and so effortless.
The Vionnet-inspired gown, one of Tom Ford‘s favorites, debuted the designer’s Fall 2012 collection, presented only to selected press members and buyers, in a series of private appointments.
To style the dress, the talented actress chose the Jimmy Choo Koko sandals, a statement Anna Hu diamond-encrusted cuff, together with a silver Anna Hu ring.
Barely-there make-up and a sleek ponytail completed the look.
