Can you believe it is already 2nd of August today? Me neither! But this is right about that time when I become a little bit sad for the half-gone summer, and a little more excited for the approaching days of September. I don’t know how you feel about it, but I absolutely adore September – and celebrating my birthday at the beginning of Fall has
nothing to do with it.
Before I enter my nostalgic mood – way ahead of schedule – I thought I’d make a small recap of my favorite celebrity off-duty looks today, looks that caught my attention during the hot month of July. I haven’t got the opportunity to write about them yet, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t kept an eye opened.
Be sure to enjoy what’s left of this summer, I know I will! Until my next post, all the love in the world ♥
It was all about sparkles, glitter and glamour at the 2012 Met Gala, held on Monday evening in New York City. But who shined the most at the event? Let me know your thoughts on last night’s big fashion frenzy. Until then I’ll take a wild guess.
Cameron Diaz had a magic evening last night, thanks to her shimmering champagne Stella McCartney gown, with diamond crystal embroidered, long sleeves and a sexy draped back. The actress styled her elegant appearance with Fred Leighton round brilliant-cut diamond drop earrings and a Stella McCartney perforated clutch. An edgy up do and impeccable make up added the final touches.
Jessica Alba was a vision in gold on the Met Gala‘s Red Carpet, as she posed all smiles in front of the photographers in a metallic Michael Kors one shoulder lame drapped gown, that fit her to perfection. A complementary Roger Vivier Pilgrim Coeur clutch and Wilfredo Rosado gold jewels, styled the beautiful appearance. 1940’s inspired side-swept curls and a dark red lip color accented the old Hollywood style vibes.
Karolina Kurkova made quite a dramatic entrance on the Red Carpet, as she posed for minutes – supermodel style, working the breathtaking rose gold Rachel Zoe design that she was wearing. The statuesque gown that featured a high neck, long sleeves and an open back was teamed with a matching turban, a gold clutch and luxurious jewelry. Definitely, a night to remember.
I personally have learned a lot about style from celebrities, how could I have not, when one of my favorite activities growing up implied tons of celebrity pictures, cropped out from magazines and then masterfully placed into what I loved to call – my fashion journals?
Now, I somehow try to carry on the tradition, as Oteea Land and Photoshop have replaced my old fashion journals, the glue, the glitter and the colored pencils. The joy of what I’m doing remained the same, though.
For some of the special events that require a more elevated look, we can finally give the LBD a well deserved break and switch for the androgynous style. As celebrity love it, the black blazer, paired with black pants, it’s now the chic way to go.
Emma Roberts opted for a relaxed but tailored look by pairing a black blazer, with black skinny pants and a simple white t-shirt. Alexandre Birman Spring 2012 Strappy sandals completed her outfit.
Jessica Alba looked flawless in Tokyo, wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger pantsuit, that she paired with a classic white shirt and complementary black pumps. Stylish!
Lily Collins worked the masculine trend by pairing a black Dolce & Gabbana blazer with a high-waist pair of Paule Ka pants. The delicate ivory ruffle blouse added a Victorian touch, as the look was finished with black pumps and a red box clutch.
Due to the endless styling possibilities – the Black Blazer is a wardrobe essential.

After a much needed break and a 4 day short family gathering trip, I’m back, fully recharged and it seems that Spring decided to join us too. With such an amazing weather outside, it’s getting difficult to focus on anything that doesn’t include summer plans, but somehow I’ll manage to do whatever needs to be done, whilst the birds keep on singing outside my window.
On the 4 days spent away from everything internet related (Supernatural doesn’t count), I missed on some outfits I loved, I missed some Red Carpet events worth mentioning ( The Hunger Games Premieres), I postponed some blog ideas I had before leaving, but I’m OK with all this, I need to learn to relax more and really understand that I can’t be in two places at once.
On March 14, Jessica Alba attended the Deborah Lloyd And Kate Spade New York Host Dinner and since I’m so into color this Spring, I couldn’t miss on this particular outfit. And, it’s Jessica we’re talking about.
The elegant pair of Kate Spade Fall 2012 orange pants, was teamed with a light blue sweater from the same collection and a cool black leather jacket.
Another pop of color was added by the yellow Chambers Street Carly Croc Shoulder bag. Black and white Giuseppe Zanotti Cap Toe pumps from the Fall 2011 collection, complemented the appearance.
Jessica styled her look using a statement ring, red lipstick and a relaxed straight hair do. Nothing out of the ordinary, but how cute is this outfit ? I bet it is pretty inspiring too !
On March 9, Jessica Alba attended the 2012 Diane von Furstenberg Awards at the United Nations, in New York City, honoring women who are courageous and fight for justice.
Presenting an award, amongst other celebrities, Jessica looked darling for the night, wearing a Diane von Furstenberg mini dress.
The pastel pink sequined silk version of the Pauletta dress, with long sleeves and a center back zipper, was paired with black tights and the Christian Louboutin Miss Clichy pumps.
MEUS earrings and a J/Hadley ring accessorized the look.
Sporting a bouffant hairstyle, black eyeliner and pink glossy lips, Jessica looked flawless.
While on her trip in Paris, the darling Jessica Alba attended the Lanvin presentation for Fall 2012, held during Paris Fashion Week. Looking classy and chic, Jess chose a Lanvin Spring 2012 dress for the fashionable event, and quite frankly, she couldn’t have gone wrong with it.
The black and white viscose crepe jersey mini dress, featured an intricate Swarovski Snake appliqué along the neckline and side, and a single puffed sleeve.
To style the dress, Jess opted for black pumps, diamond studs and a statement ring.
A messy bun, impeccable make-up and a deep-burgundy nail polish complimented the high-fashion look.
Whoever follows Jessica Alba on the social networks, must already know that the beautiful actress is currently enjoying a trip to Paris, for the 2012 Paris Fashion Week. Since her arriving on March 1, Jessica has been spotted everywhere in Paris, spending quality time with her sister-in-law, taking pictures, long walks, sightseeing and of course … shopping.
Sporting a relaxed and casual style in the cold French capital, it seems that Jessica developed a serious crush on colors this year, as she was seen wearing hot pink and neon lime Current/Elliot skinny jeans in Paris, and also lots of red, canary yellow, tangerine, green and aquamarine, back at home, all throughout the cold season.
To prevent the look from becoming too much, Jessica loves to keep the pops of color simply and tastefully styled. For that, she teamed the jeans with black and nude ankle boots, black coats with simple lines and classic silhouettes, a grey jacket, a blue MiH Jeans Star-Print silk-crepe shirt and minimal make-up.
To accessorize the hot fashion items, Jess chose a black leather tote, a hot pink Loewe Flamenco bag with tassels, a black Christys hat and a fun pair of sunglasses.
