Coco Rocha graced the Red Carpet for the 6th Annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala, as she joined the long list of celebrities attending the event at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, on April 26.
The Canadian supermodel looked flirty and chic donning a Jason Wu Spring 2012 number, one of my favorite runway looks for Spring.
The feminine Belted Peplum dress features an ivory Houndstooth-patterned lace top, a pink floaty peplum waist that trails to a dramatic cascade in back and a black skinny bow belt to finish off the exquisite silhouette.
Black lace-up ankle boots and minimal jewelry accessorized the darling look.
Pink lips and a bobby pinned up do provided the finishing touches.
After a charmingly soft and feminine collection presented for Spring 2012, designer Jason Wu found his fall inspiration way back East, by embracing his roots, and by finding a new way of reflecting the Chinese history, into his aesthetics.
What I loved most about this Fall 2012 collection : the entire feel I got from the models walking the runway, with that “Who run the world ? Girls !” sort of vibe; the fresh take on the green army uniforms; all the beautiful gold-beaded embroidery; the always perfect tailoring; the way that the glamorous and delicate accents, played against the hardness of the conservative silhouettes. You must love those magic moments, when clothes really tell a story.
You can easily spot a few trends by taking a closer look at the Fall 2012 collections, in this case, we spot floral prints for fall, fur accents, tailored military jackets, and the first two stars of the future season : the coatdress and the relaxed pair of leather pants.
My favorite looks of the Jason Wu collection, were the black tailored jacket with a fur collar, worn over a black shirt and paired with floral print pants (second look above) and the dramatic evening gown with high-slit, worn under the glamorous military inspired jacket, with gold-beaded embroidery. I don’t know why is it, but I’m easily drawn to this sort of hard/soft looks.
Sleek high ponytails and accessories like round glasses, black and gold studded sandals, studded gloves, leather clutches and wide belts, together with tassel earrings, styled this delightful Jason Wu collection. I wonder, who’s going to try it first. Happy Sunday everybody !
Blake Lively attended the Jason Wu for Target Private Launch Event on January 26, wearing a modified version of a Jason Wu Spring 2012 look. You might remember this dress, as the original runway version was worn by Michelle Williams, earlier this month, during the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
I love how Blake accessorized the modified black & white peplum dress, according to her own style, wearing it with a pair of Christian Louboutin Fifi Sequined Leopard Pumps.
Beauty wise, Blake opted for a loose low ponytail and a medium pink lipstick, under a coat of sheer shiny gloss. The attitude says it all, the look was a hit, at least according to my taste, as I really like both versions of the Jason Wu dress.
On January 5, Michelle Williams paid a visit to the Tonight Show studios for a chat with Jay Leno about her latest movie, My Week with Marilyn, the Golden Globe nomination and her latest vacation in Mexico. For this occasion, the beautiful actress wore a Jason Wu Spring 2012 RTW Peplum Dress, and it looked both sweet and chic.
The playful sleeveless peplum dress was paired with the black version of the Fendi Grosgrain Bow-Front Pumps. Michelle made a simplicity statement for this appearance, wearing no jewelry and letting the splattered Swarovski Elements on the dress do all the sparkle.
An orange nail color and the super cute blonde pixie cut finished the look.
I’m just sad I couldn’t find any pictures with Michelle standing as I’m sure the dress would have looked even better, not that I’m complaining. Having the Jason Wu Spring 2012 collection amongst my favorites, I can only hope I’ll get to see more of it this year.
