Yesterday was an amazing day for the fashion enthusiasts as the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival held in New York City kicked off with The Five Year Engagement premiere, a romantic comedy starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt.
Emily took on the Red Carpet looking lovely as ever in a Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 design.
Her strapless black cocktail dress, featuring forest green embroidery details on the bodice, was teamed with a black belt to accent the waistline and a beautiful pair of green Alice+Olivia pumps.
Complementary Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a black sparkling Valentino clutch accessorized the glamorous look.
Beauty wise, Emily opted for a sleek bun with a side part and for a pop of hot fuchsia color via her lips.
After a charmingly soft and feminine collection presented for Spring 2012, designer Jason Wu found his fall inspiration way back East, by embracing his roots, and by finding a new way of reflecting the Chinese history, into his aesthetics.
What I loved most about this Fall 2012 collection : the entire feel I got from the models walking the runway, with that “Who run the world ? Girls !” sort of vibe; the fresh take on the green army uniforms; all the beautiful gold-beaded embroidery; the always perfect tailoring; the way that the glamorous and delicate accents, played against the hardness of the conservative silhouettes. You must love those magic moments, when clothes really tell a story.
You can easily spot a few trends by taking a closer look at the Fall 2012 collections, in this case, we spot floral prints for fall, fur accents, tailored military jackets, and the first two stars of the future season : the coatdress and the relaxed pair of leather pants.
My favorite looks of the Jason Wu collection, were the black tailored jacket with a fur collar, worn over a black shirt and paired with floral print pants (second look above) and the dramatic evening gown with high-slit, worn under the glamorous military inspired jacket, with gold-beaded embroidery. I don’t know why is it, but I’m easily drawn to this sort of hard/soft looks.
Sleek high ponytails and accessories like round glasses, black and gold studded sandals, studded gloves, leather clutches and wide belts, together with tassel earrings, styled this delightful Jason Wu collection. I wonder, who’s going to try it first. Happy Sunday everybody !
The 2012 Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards was a delightful event, at least when it comes to the Red Carpet fashion. One beautiful gown after another and it was really impossible not to fall for at least one look. I personally felt for several and Emma Stone wore, what must be by now, my third favorite dress at this event.
Wearing the second look from this collection, after the Zoe Saldana number at the Golden Globes Week 2012 Kick Off, Emma looked stunning in this floor length green and navy print gown.
With side-swept bangs and soft tendrils framing her face, a pair of Sydney Evan Black-Rhodium & Sapphire Hoops and a flawless makeup, the redhead beauty looked amazing.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you at the beginning of the month that this is going to be a pretty busy time, for some major Red Carpet events. And as much as I’m trying not to make it my top kind of post these days, it’s still going to be a predominant topic on the blog.
Moving on, I would just like to add how much I enjoyed seeing Zoe Saldana at the Golden Globes Week 2012 Kick Off, as she was a glam vision in her Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 black dress.
The ladylike calf-length black gown with an embellished neckline was successfully paired with the Brian Atwood Teresa Sandals, Martin Katz jewels and a silver Kara Ross clutch.
A classic, centered low bun, black liner and a bright orange lipstick finished the look.
