As the weather gets colder and the sky much darker, I try to hold onto my personal kind of sunshine, made out of all the things that I love and make me happy. I’ll admit that getting out of bed in the morning becomes increasingly harder but having a bouquet of spring flowers on my desk, and knowing that a hot cup of mocha is awaiting for me in the kitchen definitely helps.
“A Sunday well spent brings a week of content “. And today I couldn’t agree more, especially since my Sunday was half lazy / half relaxing (I blame it on the whole after-wedding mood), sprinkled with a tiny amount of work, with lots of coffee, and after everything that needed to be done was done, it ended with a happy me, lying in bed with my Kindle in my hands, and a very content Puss dreaming away in my lap – pure bliss.
Sometimes the best outfits turn out to be the ones you put together in the spare of the moment, the ones that are made of garments that beg to be worn together, the ones that you can trust to look just as chic as they are effortless and comfortable. Ever since going for more of a curated wardrobe, I’ve crossed many items off my wishlist, items that make it easy to endlessly mix and match (which you know I totally adore doing), items that according to me should belong in all closets, much like a cool leather jacket, a pair of black jeans, a striped top and a wool hat.
I welcomed the month of September wearing what I know and love best: a laid-back and easy outfit perfect for the in-between activities around town, that’s also chic and modern. Its main ingredients? The super-cool boyfriend jeans (also the first pair of ripped denim to make it into my wardrobe), the chunky pearl necklace that I absolutely adore, and a pair of metallic pumps.
As women, we go through many different stages of confidence, with days when we feel like we can conquer the world, and others when little about us actually feels right. To find a perfect balance between the two and stick with it, would be ideal. I for one, could never fake the way I’m feeling, so it’s often when I find myself losing confidence over all kinds of reasons. And clothes have a lot to do with it.
I love clothes. Some passionately, others a little bit less, some for all the right reasons, others in spite of knowing they are not exactly my cup of tea. Not long after launching my blog, I realized I love simplicity and I also realized that I am most drawn towards those type of garments that I can mix & match the effortless way. That is when I knew I was finally getting over the idea of having a huge closet, and started building one based on classic items instead. Much like this plain white shirt that I love to wear with nearly everything.
But from time to time I also feel the need to step out of my comfort zone, to try new things, to play dress up. Little did I knew the answer to all of that would be sequins. But I did fell in love with this gorgeous skirt the moment I saw it, I waited patiently for it to arrive and put it on that same day to go out and take some pictures. I would have loved it even more if it would have fitted me perfectly (I knew I should have gone with the S size, instead of the M I eventually picked out), but there’s nothing a sewing machine can’t fix (hopefully).
I’ll leave you with the pictures & I’m wishing you a bright and happy weekend! Hugs & kisses ♥ ♥ ♥
