The Night of the 1000 Dresses aka The 2012 Met Gala was filled with breathtaking moments, as the A-list Hollywood celebrities took on the Red Carpet looking flawless whilst embracing high fashion, true art and the unbeatable New York spirit.
Tangerine was also a hit color on the celebrity filled Red Carpet last night (May 7).
Ginnifer Goodwin looked ultra feminine in her custom Monique Lhuillier tangerine silk chiffon cap sleeve creation, featuring a central slit and a beautiful beaded detailing on the upper bodice. Brian Atwood pumps which I’m not crazy about, H. Stern jewelry and a Tiffany & Co. clutch styled the appearance. Ginnifer opted to sport her sleek signature pixie cut and gorgeous make up.
Katharine McPhee sparkled amongst the important guests of the 2012 Met Gala as she was wearing a tangerine Georgette fully embroidered gown with a deep square neckline created by Elie Saab. An orange belt to accent the waist line, gold jewelry and a bronze Christian Louboutin Pliage clutch accessorized the bright look. Complementary make up and a chic up do finished off the look.
Kristen Bell stepped on the Red Carpet in a lovely floor length Tommy Hilfiger orange crinkle silk chiffon gown, that featured a crisscross halter neckline and waist ruching. Jimmy Choo heels, vintage Van Cleef and Arpels jewels, and a Judith Leiber clutch in gold, complemented the perfect appearance. Shiny locks and minimal make-up provided the finishing touches.
On February 23, Emma Stone was back on the Red Carpet alongside her co-stars form The Help, and looked delightful in white, as she attended the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel. For the event, she opted to wear an Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture dress.
The precious white embroidered half-sleeved cocktail dress, with a bow accent on the waist and a cut-out back, was paired with nude Brian Atwood Wagner pumps.
A pair of Van Cleef & Arpels yellow gold frivole earclips and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, accessorized the glamourous look.
Emma opted to style her wavy hair in a half up half down updo and completed the angelic look, with a sheer berry-pink lipstick.
Switching it from black to white, from a beautiful gown to an elegant jumpsuit, I must say I really enjoyed seeing Rose Byrne take on the Red Carpet, for the 2012 SAG Awards. Surprisingly refreshing, Rose rocked this amazing Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture jumpsuit, but being such a cutie, it’s no wonder she did.
The beautiful Damages actress, selected a sparkly white beaded jumpsuit, that she accessorized with Jimmy Choo Vibe Platform pumps and a Lena Erziak gold clutch.
A Chanel Baroque ring + a Chanel Baroque cuff, a newly cut bob an neutral make-up, finished the charming look.
I might have slightly mentioned before how MUCH I adore the Elie Saab gowns, and how Elie Saab is by far one of my favorites designers, and how you can’t go wrong with wearing Elie Saab, did I not? Well, that’s enough reason for me, to post a little something about the latest ES Couture Collection, presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, on January 25. Who cares I don’t quite have the time to do this, fashion requires some small sacrifices.
The Lebanese fashion designer presented a signature collection, romantic and colored in shades of ivory and pastel hues (powder blue, mint green, wheat and pale rose), just in time for the Oscars. Can’t wait to see who is going to be the first lady to wear ES Spring 2012 Couture, as she’s going to be wearing sweet Couture dreams.
Below you will find my personal favorites of the show, but to browse throughout the entire collection of dresses, be sure to check Oteea Land on Facebook and of course, Like the page if you find it fashionable enough. XO
Angelina Jolie was amongst the celebrities that arrived at the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, yesterday, on January 7. She looked beautiful walking alongside her husband, Brad Pitt, that was being honored at the ceremony with the Desert Palm Achievement Award.
When it comes to Angelina Jolie, I have heard a lot of people describing her Red Carpet style as being boring and safe, but I find that these minimalist looks are working for her, in the end what’s wrong with choosing clean lines, light materials and warm colors ?
With that in mind, I must say I absolutely loved this Elie Saab off-runway floor-length greige (gray+beige) pleated jumpsuit, that Angelina wore with elegance, pairing it with Jimmy Choo shoes that I could not see in any of the pictures.
A classic pair of diamond stud earrings, soft, shiny waves, warm glossy lipstick and neutral shadows completed this beautiful look.
I already had figured out what to post on this lazy Sunday, but, as it always happens, waking up I have found more than a few interesting appearances, made by the stars on the Red Carpet yesterday, mainly, for the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala. I postponed my ideas for next week and today I shall be a High-Fashion Only enthusiast. I was waiting for days like these to come :).
Purple was the color choice made by Mila Kunis for the St. Jude’s 50th Anniversary Benefit Gala, as she shined in a sexy Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 RTW Lace Dress.
I love a strong color on the Red Carpet as it looks fresh and powerful, just like this knee-length belted dress that was so sensual without it being too revealing. A pair of Elie Saab Fall 2011 RTW T-Bar Open-Toe Sandals and a black clutch completed the charming look.
Long tousled curls, smokey eyes and flawless skin completed the night appearance.
It’s a brand new year, a fresh start, we already feel different and start planning for 2012, wishing to make some changes in our lives and maybe even our wardrobes (trends change and so do we). If you already started working on the “Essential Items for 2012 List” or the otherwise called “I Wish A Lot Of New Stuff This Year” I suggest you make some space on your list and in your closet, for one of the 2012’s must-haves : The Little Red Dress.
I’m not saying it will be replacing The Little Black Dress forever, but this year it could be an inspired choice for so many different events, saving us time and helping us look effortless chic.
Amongst the designers that introduced the little red dress for 2012 were : Elie Saab, Donna Karan, DKNY, Marc By Marc Jacobs, Naeem Khan and Carolina Herrera.
Those dresses are beautiful indeed but I don’t know, actually I do know, I’ll never have the chance to wear them outside my imagination that is. Luckily, we have other options to shine as bright as the stars do, but wearing ASOS, Romwe and Topshop as they are some of the most affordable and fashionable brands. My top 4 red ASOS picks are :
Not bad at all, right ? Let’s embrace this trend and look beautiful all throughout 2012, it’s a special year, I’m telling you. XO
