London Fashion Week – Round Up – Part I

London Fashion Week is definitely something else, is unexpected, filled with surprises, sometimes even crazy.

And although I love the free spirited fashion, the one that challenges you to understand and get the story that lies behind it all, watching this Fall’s collections made me realize one thing … it’s not all for me, I mean, I personally can handle only small doses of crazy in fashion, the rest has to remain grounded, elegant, feminine, original, with a twist here and there, yes, but not clownish.

The first round up for LFW gathers my favorite picks, out of three collections that seemed to hit home with me and that I found to be appealing, relevant, interesting. I’m talking about a personal favorite which is Burberry Prorsum, or the epiphany of British elegance translated to an Uptown Chic fashion , Mary Katrantzou that has a way of playing with colors, textures, prints and shapes like no one else, and Matthew Williamson, who kept the looks stylish, fresh, glamorous and beautifully embellished.

London Fashion Week – Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 Front Row

Besides the exciting number of fashion shows going off on the runways these past couple of weeks, the front row attendees of these events, offered an interesting sight all on their own.

This is always the case for the Burberry presentations, and the one that took place on February 20, during London Fashion Week, was no exception. To find out what I loved about the Fall 2012 collection, check in on the blog later or tomorrow.

Front row favorites: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Bosworth

Choosing a look from a Burberry Prorsum collection, should be a total delight, as the prestigious 1856 brand, never ceases to deliver English elegance at its best. Easy to tell, I’m a fan.

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley chose to stay worm and comfortable with a Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2012 look, sporting a camel short sleeved bow sweater, a maroon pair of velvet trousers, a fur collar Herringbone jacket, whilst she accessorized the Fashion Week look with an oversized Burberry bag.

The lovely Kate Bosworth, was spotted at Hyde Park, ready to attend the Burberry Fall 2012 show, wearing another look from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The actress opted for a mid-length tweed skirt with a bow detail at the waist, that she teamed with a grey owl print sweater and brown ankle boots, from the same collection.

These two looks, might not resemble our usual glamorous and sparkly Red Carpet gowns, but I believe they are indubitable soft and elegant, just as much as they are a fresh reminder of the chilly weather outside.

Essentials : Episode 04 – Black Blazer

It’s been a while since I have done my latest Essentials episode, almost a month actually, and I quite forgot how fun it is to mix and match brands, colors, fabrics. I said fun, but it is also an extremely time consuming activity, maybe just for me, as I get caught in the “research” and sometimes forget to put a stop to it.

Skipping to the point, this forth episode has all three looks based on a piece that proves to be absolutely necessary in ones wardrobe : the black blazer. I happen to love blazers no matter the color, but somehow the black one seems to be the classic way to go and there’s nothing wrong with sticking to the classics, now and then. You must have already heard by now that old piece of “shopping” advice, that suggests to always think of possible ways to mix an item, with the clothing already in our closet, right before we purchase it and we find at least one combination, it’s safe to know we will actually be wearing that particular item. Well, when buying a black blazer, there’s no need to worry about all that, as you will be able to find a match for it, in a heart beat.

Enough with the bla bla, let’s skip to the important part, the three looks :

Needless to say you can find all of the items on Net-A-Porter.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – Flirty In Burberry Prorsum

Back to the Red Carpet events, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was spotted celebrating the Burberry Paris Boutique Opening At British Embassy, on December 1. She wore of course a Burberry Prorsum ensemble, from the latest collection for Spring 2012.

Mixing a high-waisted striped pencil skirt with a bold blue top, the long time Burberry face, kept things simple at the accessories department. Black Christian Louboutin pumps and a black clutch completed the look.

She wore her hair in a sexy tousled half up, half down style for an overall stylish appearance.
