It’s already five o’clock in the morning and by the time you’ll be reading this article, I’ll be enjoying a good sleep in my comfortable bed. I don’t mind sacrificing a night once in a while for the sake of work related projects, but tonight instead of working, I watched the live stream of the Red Carpet for the 2012 Met Gala – pure glamour I know, but now I somehow feel guilty.
As I mentioned before, the blog is currently going through some changes and some reorganizing issues, but with all the lack of time and new plans, I’m still not ready to give up on the Red Carpet magic. So instead, I figured out a way to be able to write about it, by saving some time nonetheless, especially on big events like this one.
The Ladies in Yellow brought some Spring colors onto the Red Carpet and I enjoyed that a lot.
Solange Knowles looked radiant as she attended the event wearing a bright yellow Rachel Roy strapless gown that featured a peplum waist. A selection of gold rings, an exquisite gold tribal cuff, a silver and gold Edie Parker Flavia clutch and Sergio Rossi heels styled her look. A mass of natural curls and nude lips complemented the appearance.
Emma Roberts also chose a strapless gown with a peplum waist, that was accented by a black belt, both signed Escada. The young actress accessorized her look with Bulgari jewelry, a sparkly Swarovski clutch and Christian Louboutin shoes. Soft curls and impeccable make-up provided the finishing touches.
January Jones opted to wear an Atelier Versace Spring 2012 custom gown, featuring a structured bodice with metallic accents and yet another peplum waist. The Mad Men actress looked stunning as she paired the yellow gown with a turquoise Cartier statement necklace, a bold orange lip color and a sleek bob. Gold Versace heels finished the look.
I’m not sure I am done with the 2012 Academy Awards’s Favorite Looks round up, so I may be getting back to it at a certain point, but if I said I loved the Red Carpet for the big award ceremony, let me just tell you that I absolutely adored some of the gowns showcased at the parties surrounding the event. Dreamy.
Yes, I was as anxious to review them and yes, I wanted to let the world know about my favorites as soon as possible. They have to be remembered and noted somewhere, luckily this blog serves as my fashion journal.
How could I not start with Paz Vega, who attended the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, looking DIVINE as she was wearing one of my favorite looks, from one of my favorite collections this year, the Stephane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture.
The Spanish actress sweep me off my feet, by totally owning this Haute Couture ivory silk jersey and gazar Kinetic gown, with a thin gold belt accentuating the waist line.
Luxurious Bulgari jewelry, styled the Oscar worthy gown.
A sleek center part with soft layered curls, smokey eyes and a glossy pink lipstick , perfected the alluring look. If people say she resembles Penelope Cruz, I dare say she looks ten times more beautiful.
I’ll be sure to keep my eyes wide opened for this lovely lady. New girl crush.
Talk about feminine perfection as Jessica Alba dazzled yesterday night, at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, showcasing her amazing figure in a beautiful Gucci gown.
The soft lilac Gucci strapless gown with embellishment detailing, was paired with a Roger Vivier Fall 2011 clutch and Bvlgari jewelry.
A soft updo and flawless make up finished the look.
Winners of the big night :
Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama: George Clooney, The Descendants
Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama: Meryl Streep Iron Lady
Best Director: Martin Scorsese, Hugo
The Bvlgari Serpenti Shoulder Bag is part of the Bvlgari Fall/Winter 2011 SERPENTI Accessories collection, a revival of the brand’s signature for over 60 years. Jessica Alba seems to be a really big fan of the medium sized bag, made of karung skin, as she carried this purse all throughout the months of November and December of 2011.
I know it’s not nice to “spy” on people, but when you do it in the name of fashion, let’s say it’s somehow reasonable and it’s not like this green jade bag, with its snake-head closure made of black and white enamel, could really pass unnoticed.
If you want to invest in a similar beauty, and I mean really invest, you should give up…let’s say about…$2,250. Not the most affordable bag, I know, but watching and dreaming are still for free.
