Rose Byrne – amfAR New York Gala

Another celebrity to grace the Red Carpet at the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2012 Fashion Week, was actress Rose Byrne, who looked absolutely stunning in an Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 design. With so many beautiful and inspiring looks parading these past days, it’s getting hard to focus on just a tiny part of it all, but I try to cover just as much as my time allows it.

Rose-Byrne---Alexander-McQueen-Spring-2012

Rose Byrne stepped things up on the Red Carpet yet again, by wearing an amazing Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 RTW lace and leather applique dress, that she paired with Sergio Rossi Milady pumps and an Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 Skull clutch.

A lovely Cartier Caresse d’Orchidees white opal & diamond ring, plus a Cartier Trinity 3-gold diamond large bracelet, accessorized the extravagant cocktail dress.

Beauty wise, Rose opted for subtle waves and a pink lip shade. This is how you do it.

Fashion Crush – Pleated Skirts

With the launch of Christopher Kane’s collection for Versus, this trend really started kicking-off early last year and kept getting stronger over the fall and winter of 2010. Now with just a couple of weeks apart from 2012, we are still into this trend no matter if we’re talking about the mini “school-girl-like” pleated skirt, the maxi version or even the midi length one – a true statement piece for fall and winter days.

The variety of lengths and textures, only confirm this item as a must, being so functional and working in so many combinations.

There are so many beautiful such skirts that it was quite hard to make a selection and what I finally did was to split my choices into two, designer choices first and most affordable Asos options second  :

I used : Rag & Bone – Ezra pleated leather mini skirt ; J.W. Anderson – Pleated wool kilt ; Christopher Kane – Pleated silk-blend lamé skirt ; Halston Heritage – Knife-pleat georgette skirt ; Alexander McQueen – Pleated wool-felt mini skirt ; Halston Heritage – Accordion-pleated chiffon maxi skirt all from Net A Porter.

Let me know what you think ? Do you own a pleated skirt ?

Charlize Theron – Daring Darling In Gucci

First off I’ll begin by saying that I love a good busy day on the Red Carpet, that’s mainly why all of today’s posts will focus on last night’s fashionable events.

The first look I liked was spotted on Charlize Theron at the 2011 Gotham Independent Film Awards held at Cipriani, Wall Street. The “Young Adult” actress looked daring in a black and white dress with gold metallic accents.

Charlize-Theron---Gucci-Spring-2012

The “early twentieth century era” inspired dress with an extreme plunging neckline and flapper-esque feel, looked much better on Charlize than on the actual runway model.

A pair of towering gold sandals, layered gold necklaces and an Alexander McQueen skull clutch completed the look together with the hint of color given by the fuchsia lips .

Essentials : Episode 02 – Black Leather Leggings

I know, I know, black leather leggins are not exactly an essential piece in our wardrobe, but somehow this season I begin to think they are. I must say I still don’t own anything leathery, I practically don’t even know why, maybe because it wasn’t my style up until now, but I’m slowly falling into this trend and I think I might try them very soon :D.

To be prepared when that moment comes and also for all of you who do own a pair of leather leggins, the next three looks may come in handy.

The first almost all-black look, gives a little bit of edge to our “on-the-go” pieces and it is Rock&Roll meets Biker Chick inspired but on a softer level. I couldn’t decide on the t-shirt as I found two adorable ones : I Love Cats ( I’m a cat person, yes) and the cute Kate Mouse Tee.

01.Black-Leather-Leggings---Edgy

I used : The Row – Occayne stretch-leather leggings; Simeon Farrar For Japan – Kate Mouse cotton T-shirt; Vince – Quilted leather motocross jacket; Alexander McQueen – Swarovski crystal double-skull ring; Zoe Karssen – I Heart Cats cotton and modal-blend T-shirt; Marc Jacobs – Cooper quilted leather shoulder bag; Belstaff – Barkmaster leather boot.

The second look is more urban, more feminine, it’s all about the sheer materials and the high heels :

02.Black-Leather-Leggings---Sexy

I used : The Row – Occayne stretch-leather leggings; Equipment – Signature leopard-print silk-chiffon shirt; Stella McCartney – Faux suede high-cut pumps; Giles & Brother – Archer 10-karat gold-plated cuff; Karl Donoghue – Shearling gilet; Miu Miu – Madras leather clutch.

Sequined top, high heels, sparkly earrings and of course the final look is perfect for a night out:

03.Black-Leather-Leggings---Party

I used : The Row – Occayne stretch-leather leggings; Milly – Victoria suede and leather clutch; Yves Saint Laurent – Studded suede platform sandals; Dannijo – Cambria silver-plated Swarovski crystal earrings; Anna Sui – Sequined mesh top.

Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed “mixing” these beautiful clothes. All the items used in this post were chosen from NET-A-PORTER ;).
