I can see the finish line, as we’re almost approaching the end of the fashionable 2012 Met Gala round up and review. And I don’t know about you, but I loved every little moment of it with all the good, the bad and the A-mazing. Another great year.

Beyonce Knowles had planned a showstopping entrance for the 2012 Met Gala, as she walked the Red Carpet with pure confidence in a dramatic Givenchy Couture black lace gown, with a black and purple train of feathers. The sheer bodice that left little to the imagination, was carefully embellished with sparkling black sequins placed in all the right places. With such a statement piece for a dress, Beyonce didn’t need to accessorize at all, playing it smart with only a sleek ponytail and a coral lipstick.
Going through last night’s pictures one more time this morning, might have changed my perspective on some of the gowns that caught my eye at first glance, whilst other dresses grew on me slowly but surely.
Carey Mulligan paid an homage to Prada, by wearing her design during the big night that set Carey co-chair for the 2012 Met Gala, alongside designer Miuccia Prada and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The gold and silver toned fish-scale halterneck dress embellished with paillettes was paired with Prada satin pumps. A chic up do, smokey eyes and nude lips styled Carey”s dazzling appearance.

The statuesque gown that featured a high neck, long sleeves and an open back was teamed with a matching turban, a gold clutch and luxurious jewelry. Definitely, a night to remember.
Thank God I didn’t like all the dresses spotted last evening on the 2012 Met Gala‘s Red Carpet, because choosing my favorites of the night wasn’t as easy as I would have hoped. With a different story hiding behind every dress, with so many favorite stars and favorite designers in one single place, the task seemed almost impossible.
Sofia Vergara stayed true to her gorgeous signature style by sporting a silver-embellished hourglass Marchesa gown from the Spring 2012 collection. Her ensemble, consisting of a silver and black hand-embroidered floor length gown and a black silk cape best represented her music and her taste for dramatic, vampy appearances. Minimal jewelry, deep plum colored lips, soft curls and a darker hair color completed the magical entrance.

It’s already five o’clock in the morning and by the time you’ll be reading this article, I’ll be enjoying a good sleep in my comfortable bed. I don’t mind sacrificing a night once in a while for the sake of work related projects, but tonight instead of working, I watched the live stream of the Red Carpet for the 2012 Met Gala – pure glamour I know, but now I somehow feel guilty.
As I mentioned before, the blog is currently going through some changes and some reorganizing issues, but with all the lack of time and new plans, I’m still not ready to give up on the Red Carpet magic. So instead, I figured out a way to be able to write about it, by saving some time nonetheless, especially on big events like this one.
The Ladies in Yellow brought some Spring colors onto the Red Carpet and I enjoyed that a lot.
