With both the ultra-feminine and bright floral looks covered, what better way to end my short list of 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards fashion favorites, than by going opposite direction?
As she attended the Santa Monica, California ceremony, Michelle Williams opted to follow the slightly more masculine and conservative trends, and centered her appearance around a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 look.
If I don’t usually find myself loving Michelle’s choices, mostly due to her black and white predictable fashion sense, not that there’s anything wrong with it, sometimes, like this time, her quirky style gets to me. The black and navy shorts suit, paired with a simple white shirt, may resemble a boyish uniform all buttoned up, but I find it to be rather sweet and built on a retro vibe.
Michelle’s favorites Fendi Grosgrain Bow-Front pumps, in black, plus the Trau for Forevermark Stackable Diamond rings, accessorized the lovely look.
But my favorite accessory, would have to be the Olympia Le-Tan the Catcher in the Rye embroidered book clutch. Smart choice, huh ? The nerdy me definitely loves everything book related.
Now, I’m hoping Michelle will go bold on color for the big night at the Academy Awards and hopefully, tomorrow, I’ll get to write about that. Fingers crossed for a beautiful Red Carpet.
I should definitely be working right now, as it’s getting really late, but as I eagerly await for the Oscar ceremony to kick off, with its highly anticipated Red Carpet, I feel that I should at least finish what I started.
Following Kate Beckinsale’s perfect appearance, Zoe Saldana was a close second favorite, as she took on the Red Carpet at the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards, on February 25. She showcased her amazing figure, in a Balmain Spring 2012 dress … mini dress that is.
The sexy floral number, with metallic gold print accents and structured shoulders, had a surprising feature in its opened back. Brian Atwood Zenith pumps in nude, styled the fun and lively dress.
With no accessories at sight, Zoe went for simple wavy curls as a hairstyle and finished the look with sheer glossy lipstick. I always love a bold Balmain look, but not everyone can pull it off; luckily, for Zoe that wasn’t an option.
Picture this: the loveliest actress, Kate Beckinsale, wearing one of my favorite pieces from Diane Von Furstenberg‘s Fall 2012 collection. Add the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards, that were held on February 25, in Santa Monica, California, add my excitement, and you’ll get the beautiful reason that lies beneath the existence of this very blog. In shorter words, I love Fashion. Everyday for a new reason.
Following her previous colorful appearance, Kate opted for the berry version of the one-shoulder draped DVF jumpsuit, as the original runway piece was pink, and paired the hot number with the Christian Louboutin Spring 2012 Lady Peep Peep Toe pumps, embellished by a hand carved illusion, evoking the feeling of designs from another time. Fancy !
The relaxed look was finished with gold Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, amazing as always, and a matching gold Gucci box clutch.
In the beauty department, Kate sticked to her famous loose curls and flawless make-up. Needless to say, this was my favorite Red Carpet look of the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Some others will follow.
