Even if I missed seeing Kate Beckinsale take on this year’s Red Carpet for the Academy Awards, I was enthusiastic and happy to see her look gorgeous at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. The British actress, who seems to be on a streak of impeccable looks lately, caught all eyes in a smouldering Atelier Versace Fall 2011 Couture gown.
The long sleeved cut-out gown, featuring a siren sillouethe, sequined detailing, and baroque influences in the charming prints, was simply styled with a black metallic clutch and gold studded earrings.
Sporting a relaxed wavy hairstyle, with some curls softly pinned in a half up do, and her signature flawless make-up, Kate delivered an exquisite appearance.
I’m not sure I am done with the 2012 Academy Awards’s Favorite Looks round up, so I may be getting back to it at a certain point, but if I said I loved the Red Carpet for the big award ceremony, let me just tell you that I absolutely adored some of the gowns showcased at the parties surrounding the event. Dreamy.
Yes, I was as anxious to review them and yes, I wanted to let the world know about my favorites as soon as possible. They have to be remembered and noted somewhere, luckily this blog serves as my fashion journal.
How could I not start with Paz Vega, who attended the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, looking DIVINE as she was wearing one of my favorite looks, from one of my favorite collections this year, the Stephane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture.
The Spanish actress sweep me off my feet, by totally owning this Haute Couture ivory silk jersey and gazar Kinetic gown, with a thin gold belt accentuating the waist line.
Luxurious Bulgari jewelry, styled the Oscar worthy gown.
A sleek center part with soft layered curls, smokey eyes and a glossy pink lipstick , perfected the alluring look. If people say she resembles Penelope Cruz, I dare say she looks ten times more beautiful.
I’ll be sure to keep my eyes wide opened for this lovely lady. New girl crush.
Letting aside the weird leg showing and awkward posing that’s she’s been sporting on the Red Carpet, at the 2012 Academy Awards, Angelina Jolie created drama with her appearance. Even if she stuck to her favorite neutral shade of black in the Atelier Versace gown, the beautiful actress didn’t fail to deliver a slightly darker but showstopping moment.
The custom made, black velvet strapless gown, with a sexy high slit, was paired with a classic pair of black Salvatore Ferragamo satin peep-toe platform pumps.
Neil Lane jewelry, soft wind-blown curls and a hot red lipstick, as Angie looks best wearing it, made for a highly seductive appearance.
Oh WOW … that was my first thought upon seeing Gwyneth Paltrow, donning her minimalist Tom Ford look, on February 26, during the 2012 Academy Awards. Due to her simplistic, yet majestic sillouethe, Gwyneth outshined everyone at the event. Such a vision.
By opting to wear a white chic column dress with clean lines, and a stylish cape, Gwyneth made her appearance feel sophisticated and so effortless.
The Vionnet-inspired gown, one of Tom Ford‘s favorites, debuted the designer’s Fall 2012 collection, presented only to selected press members and buyers, in a series of private appointments.
To style the dress, the talented actress chose the Jimmy Choo Koko sandals, a statement Anna Hu diamond-encrusted cuff, together with a silver Anna Hu ring.
Barely-there make-up and a sleek ponytail completed the look.
As I had highly hoped, Michelle Williams added a bright pop of color to the Red Carpet for the 2012 Academy Awards, by choosing to wear a classic silhouette created by previously worn designer, Louis Vuitton. Despite the sad fact that she didn’t won an Oscar for the impersonation of Marilyn Monroe, her look for the big night glowed on delicacy.
The floor length strapless peplum gown, bright colored in coral, was quietly styled by Michelle, as she added another feminine touch using a jeweled bow detail at the waist.
Forever Mark jewelry and a pink Bottega Veneta Crocodile Knot clutch, complemented the darling look.
Sporting her polished pixie cut and red lips, Michelle signed off on a memorable appearance.
Lately this blog has been all about Red Carpet fashion, but with the 2012 Academy Awards closing the award season, hopefully in the future, I will find enough time to catch up on all the other things I missed out.
Moving on with my favorite gowns of the night, I must say I really enjoyed seeing Rose Byrne at the 2012 Oscars, as she always makes for an interesting appearance. This time, she shined in a stylish gown signed Vivienne Westwood.
The asymmetrical glittering black sequined gown, was teamed with Jimmy Choo Linda suede platform sandals and a beautiful Chanel clutch.
Chanel Fine jewelry, featuring the amazing Chanel Lueur d’un Soir earrings, styled the perfect fitted dress.
Beauty wise, Rose opted for a shiny straight bob and a bronze toned make-up. Simple and delightful.
Somehow, last night I managed to stay awake and watch the 2012 Oscars live on TV. As I haven’t done this in quite a long time, I almost forgot how much fun it was. Both the Red Carpet, and the show, were totally worth me staying up until 7 in the morning, and now with only 6 hours of sleep, I have to talk about everything I loved last night – fashion related of course. Because these articles aren’t going to write themselves, otherwise this blog would be on fire right now, I’ll skip right to the point.
Milla Jovovich was one of the first ladies to step out on the Red Carpet yesterday evening, surprisingly or not, she looked dazzling in an Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture gown.
The one-shoulder beaded gown in white, looked amazing on Milla and was by far one of the most elegant appearances of the night. Paired with Elie Saab platforms and an Edie Parker Flavia lacquered confetti clutch, the beautiful dress evoked a distant time’s glamour.
Retro curls and bold red lips, together with exquisite diamond jewelry, completed the magnificent look. Because this is how you do it.
