I believe in individuality, in respect, in kindness, in choosing happiness, always. I don’t believe in forcing my faith, my feelings or projecting my convictions onto somebody else, just because I can. When it comes to fashion, I believe the only way to grow is through trial and error. I love how we all flourish into very distinct personalities, sharing some beliefs, but walking such distinct paths.
It’s been a while since I last updated the inspiration section here on the blog and to be honest I kind of missed it. Now I don’t know about you, but I love reading these type of posts and seeing what everyone “picks out” from the runway. With so many collections available for inspiration and all of us being so very different it sure is a beautiful play on imagination.
At the beginning of this year I decided to go easy on the resolutions, so much so that I ended up not having any planned for 2014, I was never good at sticking to them anyway. The only wish I had for myself was to relax more and just be happy. Happy as in finding reasons to smile in even the smallest of things, every single day, no matter what. Giving my past tendency to over-think, overstress and worry about everything, this little exercise of happiness helped tons in improving my general mood, in made me appreciate it all at a different level and I learned to be grateful for every single moment, with all the good and the bad.
“I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”
This L.M. Montgomery quote kind of defines fall days for me, particularly once the colder weather begins to settle in and all I want to do is hide at home and surround myself with delicious food, coffee, flowers, books and my two favorite boys. It’s days like these when I feel that life is most beautiful when it’s cherished in all its simplicity. It’s days like these when I realize I don’t need much to be happy. And it’s a day like this that I want to share with you today. Because it’s too cold outside to be shooting outfits and because I love it home.
I am good at wishing, but then again who isn’t? The fact that I LOVE to make lists, of all sorts it’s also not a secret anymore: resolutions, to-do lists, grocery lists, ideas for articles, schedules, outfit planning, house decorating, it all begins with me setting pen on paper. But wish-lists have to be my absolute favorites and during this time of the year, with the Holidays rapidly approaching, I allow myself to
secretly wish away.
And since today I’ve been browsing Persunmall in search of something pretty, something that would complement my existing wardrobe but also add to it, I thought I would make a wishlist with all the things that I
need, ok, with all the things that I want from their online store. Hopefully, it will inspire your future purchases as well, because what I chose below represents just a small amount of all the pretty little things I loved.
It has definitely been a while since I last shared my monthly purchases on the blog but in all honesty, most of the times I am just so eager to get to wear what I buy that I completely forget to take any photos. Those of you who happen to follow me on instagram might have already seen the bits & pieces of this month’s purchases, but I though I would take some pretty photographs anyway, especially as I had some beautiful leaves lying around the house. Yes, I gather them and spread them in the apartment as well, just to get a better feel of fall. I mean, warm tea and scented candles aren’t clearly enough ^^ Happy weekend! ♥
Today marks the two month anniversary of our wedding, not that it is a real anniversary, but then again I always loved to celebrate every special event of my life by marking out the days, weeks, months and years. I can hardly believe how fast time went by but I am happy and grateful to be sharing this new chapter of my life with my best friend and my better half. I realize how lucky we are to have found each other ♥
I’m not good at sharing such intimate moments of my life, as I have always been a rather private person, but today it feels great to be able to do it differently. I know that every future bride carries a different fantasy of how she should look on this particular day: some channel princesses, some opt to look glamorous, while others choose pure extravagance or crazy colors. And I understand it all. It is extremely important to stay true to yourself during this memorable day. For me it was always going to be about simplicity. I chose to channel a bride’s innocence and candor, thinking more about fairies rather than princesses. I chose to feel easy and look as natural as possible. This is who I am and this is what I wanted to remember for the may years to come.
Our first dance was Lara Fabian’s Je t’aime, our cake was a super-delicious “Black Forrest”, we danced non-stop until we could barely feel our feet and it was by far the most wonderful day of our lives ♥ ♥
