“A Sunday well spent brings a week of content “. And today I couldn’t agree more, especially since my Sunday was half lazy / half relaxing (I blame it on the whole after-wedding mood), sprinkled with a tiny amount of work, with lots of coffee, and after everything that needed to be done was done, it ended with a happy me, lying in bed with my Kindle in my hands, and a very content Puss dreaming away in my lap – pure bliss.
Sometimes the best outfits turn out to be the ones you put together in the spare of the moment, the ones that are made of garments that beg to be worn together, the ones that you can trust to look just as chic as they are effortless and comfortable. Ever since going for more of a curated wardrobe, I’ve crossed many items off my wishlist, items that make it easy to endlessly mix and match (which you know I totally adore doing), items that according to me should belong in all closets, much like a cool leather jacket, a pair of black jeans, a striped top and a wool hat.
Here are just some of my favorite things to wear, casually juxtaposed in an outfit that felt perfect for the sunny weather we had yesterday. A basic white button-down, a sporty sweatshirt with lace inserts and a cool faux leather skirt made for a magic combination in my eyes.
I loved wearing this dress during spring, but I somehow feel it is totally meant for fall. Belted, with a pair of fringed ankle boots, underneath a trench coat, with its colors dark and its print matching the beauty of nature during this time of year, I couldn’t have felt closer to my favorite season than on the day I wore the aztec dress for a quick round of running errands around town.
On this tricky weather that doesn’t belong neither with summer, nor fall, I found the chilly Monday afternoon to be refreshing. I loved the thought of throwing on my favorite blazer, just as much as I loved wearing this lovely crop top for a second time. Nothing beats these trans-seasonal weeks when it comes to experimenting with mixing and matching items of all styles and all seasons.
Lately I’ve been more and more drawn towards this kind of beige neutrals. I think I’m slowly entering another phase that’s going to leave a visible imprint upon my wardrobe. But prints, that I rarely do. It’s not them, it’s me, I love prints on everybody else but I don’t really see them fitting into my personal closet. And wearing them is always a struggle. Perhaps not always.
It’s been a while since I last updated the inspiration section here on the blog and to be honest I kind of missed it. Now I don’t know about you, but I love reading these type of posts and seeing what everyone “picks out” from the runway. With so many collections available for inspiration and all of us being so very different it sure is a beautiful play on imagination.
