I’m not going to lie, I initially planned to spend my Sunday in bed, wearing my pajamas all day long, my hair in a messy bun, with a tea in my hand and Puss very close by. But the thought of a good cup of coffee at my husband’s invitation managed to lure me out of the house. And I didn’t mind the dreary weather, not one bit.
Those of you following me on Facebook, were already introduced to the lovely interview (it’s in Romanian) I gave to Daniela from Fashion.Shopping.Gossip last week. In that spirit and because I want you to get to know me a little bit better, today I am going to share another 5 things you might not know about me .
“Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.”
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, this little blog of mine has managed to teach me a great deal of things in a relatively short amount of time, and today I want to share with you some of those useful things I’ve learned. Now, I wasn’t the most confident girl growing up, I had my fair share of insecurities – some of them still live cozily inside my head, others are long gone by now – but what I am happy to have understood is that:
- It’s never too late to change and it’s never too late to try something new; of course stepping out of our comfort zone is not easy but you should wear that red lipstick you’ve been thinking of wearing for the longest time, you should switch the jeans for a pretty dress if that makes you feel prettier, you should always feel like the best version of yourself, regardless of what others might think, or say;
- Dare be you – we live in a world that seems to constantly try to dictate our decisions and while seeking inspiration in everyone and everything is alright and quite natural, is what you choose to do with that inspiration that matters most. You should never compromise who you are for others, I’ve done it before and it doesn’t feel good at all. If in a world that is mad about color you feel the happiest wearing black and white, do it. I know I am having a blast doing it ^_^
- Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – there’s absolutely nothing wrong in choosing simplicity, the same way there’s nothing wrong in going wild when defining your personal style. And while I appreciate the use of imagination and the unexpected clashes of colors, prints or textures on others, it’s still the ultimate simplicity that puts a smile on my face, and while boring to others I LOVE IT, I always will.
- It takes time for things to fall into place and it takes patience, and that is OK. Not everything has to move at the speed of sound, we all have our own ways of dealing with change, we are all gifted with a different set of values and I for one, have really, really learned to enjoy the ride, with all the bumps that come along.
There’s still a lot on my mind, but I will be sharing the rest of my thoughts in another post. Enjoy your night and think about what truly puts a smile on your face, because that is key to your happiness ♥ ♥ ♥
Never underestimate the power of a great accessory. I’m all about simplicity with a twist, and that twist often comes from a lovely pair of heels, a gorgeous bag, some sparkly jewelry and today it comes from the most beautiful burgundy hat. I love my accessories to be unique, to represent me, I love them even more when they have a history behind and they cross the ocean just to become mine.
When invited by the lovely Ecua-Andino Hats team to become one of their fashion ambassadors I gladly accepted the invitation, fascinated with their genuine Panama hats, knowing that every single hat is 100% handmade from 100% natural fabrics, learning that their long-established reputation dates back to 1630, when the first hand-made Panama hats were created in Ecuador. I am one to respect tradition, I appreciate the value of unique craftsmanship and I love to think I now have a tiny bit of Ecuador brightening my wardrobe.
I’m not going to say how great I felt wearing this beautiful hat, I’ll let the pictures do all the talking. If you want to learn more about Ecua-Andino Hats visit their website, or check out their Facebook page.
Happy Valentine’s Day for all those of you celebrating today!
I’m hardly what you’d call a print kind of girl, so needless to point out that I didn’t even realize I was so keen on wearing tartan until I saw the shirt and the jacket lying side by side in the closet. Which instantly inspired me to clash the two of them together in an outfit that was warm enough, comfy enough but still a little bit special. I love that the weather these days feels so pleasant and warm, so much in fact that if I close my eyes, breath in the fresh air and concentrate on hearing the birds chirping, it almost feels like spring. Hope everyone is enjoying a nice, relaxing Sunday. I’m currently divided between choosing to go out for a nice walk followed by a delicious cup of coffee, or making it a lazy Sunday at home, with an animated movie, a home made dinner and lots of cuddling. Decisions, decisions. Sending out lots of love and thank you for always reading ♥ ♥ ♥
I’m currently recovering after a weekend that was both extremely cold and so very sad, and that left me feeling a little bit uneasy and on the verge of catching a flu, which is why I’m going to keep things short today. Not for lack of ideas, as my mind is constantly wondering and wandering, leaving me with so many thoughts that I wouldn’t know where to begin in writing them down. You must be familiar with those moments when someone asks if everything is OK, and you consider saying a million things, but all that comes out of your mouth in the end is “Fine”. That’s me today. Well, I believe my cure lies in a combination of sweet tea, happy songs, warm blankets, hot baths and comfort food. Plus love, a lot of love from my two favorite boys ♥ Hope your week is going better than mine, can’t believe we are already past January ♥ ♥ ♥ Enjoy the pictures!
