If we were to meet right now, I would probably say I don’t feel like the best company. I have a lot on my mind, and giving my predisposition to worry and stress, these past days have felt a little overwhelming. This explains my short absence on the blog and for as much as I would love to keep my two worlds separate, I’m not that good at compartmentalizing my feelings. I’m not that good at pretending either, so I’m sorry if I can’t keep this place happy, joyful and optimistic, at all times. The best things about today though, were the spring-like atmosphere, my fiance’s company and the sweet taste of coffee. I’ll always appreciate those! ♥
For me, throwing on a cap and a pair of sneakers comes easy and has nothing to do with trends. I just love wearing super comfortable clothes and I would do it all the time if the other half of me wouldn’t long for some femininity, romance or edge from time to time. Safe to assume that I love experimenting with fashion and if a few years back I would have said no to a lot of ideas, now I’m more inclined to say that I would try anything, at least once, to just know how it feels if for nothing else.
I hope you all had a wonderful week, Valentine’s Day celebration included (or not). We took Thursday off, to just relax and enjoy the day, headed for lunch out, followed by some light shopping, a short walk and a TV series marathon as we arrived home. So I would say that instead of celebrating, we took advantage of the day and made it our own sort of escapade. We’re not big on romance, but we do love a day just for ourselves.
New week, new outfit post, new to-do list, new challenges, more black, more bows. Some days it does feel hard to keep up with everything, especially since all I feel like doing these days is hide under a blanket and read. Those of you following me on Insagram already know that my Valentine’s Day gift arrived earlier (read I stumbled across my gift and ruined my Fiance’s surprise), during the weekend more precisely and that I received a lovely Kindle, along with a selection of books that I’ve been meaning to read for so long. Only the best gift in the entire world if you ask me ♥
Yes, I couldn’t resist the temptation of doing this short, little post, especially since in all of my breaks from work (which consist in writing about the collections) I keep checking the ones I don’t get to write about, dreaming about all the beautiful garments that walk down the runways. And while it’s true that New York Fashion Week is far from over, I already bombed my Pinterest board with lots of inspiring outfits, just perfect for fall and winter. This is just a small part of what I loved so far this season and truth be told, I really missed this sorts of inspiration posts.
As I was reorganizing my closet the other week – which by the way feels like it never happened – I stumbled across this pair of lace shorts and I realized that I wore them towards the end of the summer and once again during fall, but never this winter. Not that I had the chance with all the cold that’s been going on lately, but still. Today I picked them up again and decided to pair them to a warm knit and go for a walk. Surprisingly enough the air felt warm-ish and for the first time in like ever I didn’t freeze while taking the pictures (^_^)
For me, a new month means automatically a fresh start, a brand new page, a chance to do it all again, hopefully better and since January is finally gone, I can honestly say I feel spring just a tiny bit closer. These past days I have felt somewhat under the weather, tired of the snow meets rain meets sun meets ice meets cold – and I could go on like this for a while, but I won’t – because that is all in the past now. I enjoyed the first day of February out and about, sporting my new Zara blazer and a lovely fishtail braid ^_^
