It’s Not The World That’s Changing

… I guess it’s me. Yesterday, I finally got the chance to enjoy some beautiful hours under a warm sun and it was such a bliss – have I told you it’s been raining like crazy for the past three weeks? Where are the hot summer days, so I can start complaining about the heat and the melting ice-creams? Hopefully, just around the corner.

I love a long walk on a sunny day like yesterday was, especially when it’s followed by a delicious coffee and light shopping, sadly I didn’t have enough patience to try anything on, that happens a lot with me. But I ended up buying a pair of high-heels that will be perfect for the summer, part of me changing and trying new things – even uncomfortable pairs of shoes – yeah, if it’s not flat, it usually means it’s uncomfortable. But since I love heels so much on other people, it’s time to accept that a fashionable life requires small sacrifices.

I’m in a time of my life, when I feel that with everyday passing by I change just a little bit more, in small but fundamental ways. For as much as I’m enjoying this natural stage, the moment my wardrobe started feeling like a crisis, the first hint that things were changing, didn’t feel so great. Now, I’m slowly building a new style, that I’d better still be loving in a couple of years. I’m excited to be looking back here, a year from now, to actually witness the changes.

Let’s Just Breathe

Oh wow, I haven’t even realized that almost two weeks passed by since my last post. I guess the trip back home, the preparations and all the time spent there, really helped me disconnect, unplug my “wires” and just … be. I cannot say I didn’t miss the blog, the internet, the fashion industry, but I chose to put it all on hold and just focus on the time spent with my dear ones. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The weather played some tricks, it wasn’t all sunny and warm like I had hoped, but instead I learned to enjoy the cloudy and even rainy days, which surprisingly wasn’t that bad. I miss the sun though, and I really hope he’ll be back soon enough.

So between going for walks, trying to enjoy coffees (wish I could say they were delicious, but my hometown seems to miss a good coffee spot), shopping, eating, playing with the cat, sleeping, catching up with my mom and celebrating her birthday, I couldn’t care less about a fashionable outfit. There will be plenty of time for that.

Now I have to catch up with everything, including the International Theater Festival which is currently taking place in Sibiu, I really hope I’ll get to see at least one play.

Hope you’re all doing great ! I’ll see you soon, XO

In Search Of Inspiration

I had hoped I would write about my second outfit post today, but due to the fact that the sun decided to take a break for almost four days now, I didn’t quite feel like putting on a cute dress in order to go for a walk in the pouring rain. Although, at this late hour (it’s a scheduled post, yes) … that doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Instead, I started getting ready for my little trip back to my hometown, where I shall recharge my batteries, hopefully under a bright warm sun. I dream of walking barefoot, playing with the cat and the dog, taking pictures, eating delicious food and strawberries, whilst being surrounded by the people I love most.

Heading home, means I will have some time to do a little shopping so of course, I took the Spring runways as inspiration, once again, in order to add other beautiful key pieces to my – currently under construction – wardrobe. And this is what I would love to wear this summer :

Saturday in the City

Good morning darlings,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday, because I know I am. It would have been a perfect day, had I like … absolutely nothing to do, nothing at all, so I could just sleep, read and watch my beloved TV series (I’m awfully behind at this point).

Luckily, yesterday we (my fiancee and I) found a glimpse of free time so we spent a few hours walking the busy city streets, taking pictures, enjoying the nice weather and …it felt great, it always does. Wish I’d do this every single day during summer time. Especially now, when our lovely city came to life and a bunch of great concerts, festivals and other interesting activities are about to take place during the following weeks. Guess who’s excited ? Me, me, me … !!!

Music, theater, museums and fireworks …soon ♥

A special thank you to my better half for bearing with me today (actually all the time … but shhhh), I know it’s hard but it means EVERYTHING …

2012 Met Gala – Round Up Part VI

I can see the finish line, as we’re almost approaching the end of the fashionable 2012 Met Gala round up and review. And I don’t know about you, but I loved every little moment of it with all the good, the bad and the A-mazing. Another great year.

2012-Met-Gala---06Diane Kruger showcased her love for couture and risk-taking last night, as she grabbed everyone’s attention with her purple loose-fitting silk chiffon Prada gown, that featured a V neckline and an ostrich feathered hemline. The iconic actress styled her romantic appearance with a gold necklace with purple stones, a gold arm bracelet and a pink embellished clutch. Delicate make up and long, straight tresses provided the finishing touches.

Marion Cotillard combined her adorable playfulness with the event required elegance by donning a Christian Dior gown. The French design consisting of a shimmering black sleeveless bodice and a purple sheer structured bottom with delicate accents was paired with Christian Dior shoes and clutch, plus Chopard jewelry. Marion finished her look with a chic up do and soft pink lips.

Beyonce Knowles had planned a showstopping entrance for the 2012 Met Gala, as she walked the Red Carpet with pure confidence in a dramatic Givenchy Couture black lace gown, with a black and purple train of feathers. The sheer bodice that left little to the imagination, was carefully embellished with sparkling black sequins placed in all the right places. With such a statement piece for a dress, Beyonce didn’t need to accessorize at all, playing it smart with only a sleek ponytail and a coral lipstick.

2012 Met Gala – Round Up Part V

Going through last night’s pictures one more time this morning, might have changed my perspective on some of the gowns that caught my eye at first glance, whilst other dresses grew on me slowly but surely.

Carey Mulligan paid an homage to Prada, by wearing her design during the big night that set Carey co-chair for the 2012 Met Gala, alongside designer Miuccia Prada and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The gold and silver toned fish-scale halterneck dress embellished with paillettes was paired with Prada satin pumps. A chic up do, smokey eyes and nude lips styled Carey”s dazzling appearance.

Nina Dobrev secured herself a well deserved spot on the best dressed of the night list, when she decided to step out in this sumptuous Donna Karan Atelier one shoulder silver and black custom gown, that featured a long dreamy train and a chic open back with draping details. The beautiful actress accessorized her heavy gown with Jimmy Choo heels and H. Stern jewelry. A classic up do and flawless make up made for a memorable appearance.

Rihanna went for another black moment on the Red Carpet, when she chose this bold, tight, crocodile skin applique gown wearing the signature of designer Tom Ford. Riri styled the long sleeved dress with simple black pumps, minimal jewelry and ultra long black nails. Her signature make up and a funky hair do added up to the sultry look.

2012 Met Gala – Round Up Part IV

It was all about sparkles, glitter and glamour at the 2012 Met Gala, held on Monday evening in New York City. But who shined the most at the event? Let me know your thoughts on last night’s big fashion frenzy. Until then I’ll take a wild guess.

2012-Met-Gala---04Cameron Diaz had a magic evening last night, thanks to her shimmering champagne Stella McCartney gown, with diamond crystal embroidered, long sleeves and a sexy draped back. The actress styled her elegant appearance with Fred Leighton round brilliant-cut diamond drop earrings and a Stella McCartney perforated clutch. An edgy up do and impeccable make up added the final touches.

Jessica Alba was a vision in gold on the Met Gala‘s Red Carpet, as she posed all smiles in front of the photographers in a metallic Michael Kors one shoulder lame drapped gown, that fit her to perfection. A complementary Roger Vivier Pilgrim Coeur clutch and Wilfredo Rosado gold jewels, styled the beautiful appearance. 1940’s inspired side-swept curls and a dark red lip color accented the old Hollywood style vibes.

Karolina Kurkova made quite a dramatic entrance on the Red Carpet, as she posed for minutes – supermodel style, working the breathtaking rose gold Rachel Zoe design that she was wearing. The statuesque gown that featured a high neck, long sleeves and an open back was teamed with a matching turban, a gold clutch and luxurious jewelry. Definitely, a night to remember.
