After a charmingly soft and feminine collection presented for Spring 2012, designer Jason Wu found his fall inspiration way back East, by embracing his roots, and by finding a new way of reflecting the Chinese history, into his aesthetics.
What I loved most about this Fall 2012 collection : the entire feel I got from the models walking the runway, with that “Who run the world ? Girls !” sort of vibe; the fresh take on the green army uniforms; all the beautiful gold-beaded embroidery; the always perfect tailoring; the way that the glamorous and delicate accents, played against the hardness of the conservative silhouettes. You must love those magic moments, when clothes really tell a story.
You can easily spot a few trends by taking a closer look at the Fall 2012 collections, in this case, we spot floral prints for fall, fur accents, tailored military jackets, and the first two stars of the future season : the coatdress and the relaxed pair of leather pants.
My favorite looks of the Jason Wu collection, were the black tailored jacket with a fur collar, worn over a black shirt and paired with floral print pants (second look above) and the dramatic evening gown with high-slit, worn under the glamorous military inspired jacket, with gold-beaded embroidery. I don’t know why is it, but I’m easily drawn to this sort of hard/soft looks.
Sleek high ponytails and accessories like round glasses, black and gold studded sandals, studded gloves, leather clutches and wide belts, together with tassel earrings, styled this delightful Jason Wu collection. I wonder, who’s going to try it first. Happy Sunday everybody !
