In terms of fashion, you never know what to expect from Diane Kruger, as she is far from ever choosing safe or boring looks. On the contrary, even without a stylist, she manages to enjoy fashion, in a way that is always fresh, daring and provocative.
During the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, Diane attended both a photocall and the premiere of Farewell, My Queen (Les Adieux De La Reine), her latest movie, in which she stars as Marie Antoinette, during the final days of the French Revolution.
As she joined her co-stars, french actresses Léa Seydoux and Virginie Ledoyen at the Berlin Photocall, Diane opted for a 10 Crosby Derek Lam Spring 2012 look.
The springy green flower print dress, worn under a black and white stripped mid-length skirt, was definitely fashion forward and quite unusual. I find that this dress under the skirt trend is slowly taking over Spring fashion, as more stars are giving it a try (remember Blake Lively in Valentino ?).
Pushing it even further, Diane teamed the Derek Lam design, with a pair of yellow Giuseppe Zanotti Spring 2012 embellished sandals. Soft curls and natural make-up finished the look.
For the Red Carpet movie premiere, Diane Kruger opted for a more glamorous approach, choosing a showstopping gown, part of the Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture collection, presented back in January, during Paris Haute Couture.
The full-length polka dot sequin gown, embellished by a huge bow, had a metallic belt accentuating the waistline. A Judith Leiber Wildcat crystal-embellished clutch, a sleek classic bun and cuffed Repossi ear ornaments, completed the opulent appearance.
With so much detailing going on, someone could have easily gotten lost, but not Diane. She was purely majestic.
