Elizabeth Banks – Man on a Ledge Hollywood Premiere

On Monday evening, Elizabeth Banks attended the premiere of her new movie Man on a Ledge, at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, in Hollywood. The blonde beauty bet on gold for this event, and she won an exquisite appearance, with the help of Emilio Pucci.

The Emilio Pucci Resort 2012 gold mini, with sparkling details and an open back, totally flattered Elizabeth’s sillouethe. The Gold theme was completed by the amazing Christian Louboutin Lady Max sandals, from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and a Jimmy Choo Mini Tube clutch.

Tousled waves, a sheer glossy pink lipstick, plus a hot pink nail polish finished the fabulous look.

Maria Lucia Hohan Red Carpet Special

I’ve been meaning to do this special Red Carpet round-up, celebrating how amazing 2011 has been with Maria Lucia Hohan‘s designs, for quite some time now, but as usual, I got caught up with other and other ideas. Eventually, this wasn’t such a bad thing, as in 2012 at The Golden Globes, I was given the opportunity to add two more beautiful gowns to my MLH Favorites list.

My first idea was to make a Top 10 out of my favorite MLH dresses, but after doing some thinking, I came up with the conclusion that a random order would be much inspired, as I had trouble choosing and ranking the gowns. It felt bad having to divide them so accurately and since I’m not a Fashion critic, but more of a HUGE Fashion lover, I can afford to do just that.

Let’s hope 2012 will be an even more wonderful year for the talented Romanian designer, I for sure, promise to feature all of the MLH appearances right here on the blog. Fingers crossed.

Back in October 2011, Stacy Keibler wore a Maria Lucia Hohan romantic strapless nude gown, with a sweetheart neckline at The Descendants London Film Festival Premiere. At that moment, everyone agreed she had never looked better.

At the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, the lovely Pretty Little Liars star, Troian Bellisario, took on the Red Carpet looking gorgeous in a Maria Lucia Hohan silk halter gown.

Nicole Scherzinger had a fairytale evening in November 2011, during the Fox’s “The X Factor” Top 9 to 7 Live Elimination Show, when she wore a beautiful nude Maria Lucia Hohan creation, that suite her to perfection. Too bad there aren’t any HQ images capturing that moment.

This year, at the Golden Globes, Kathleen Robertson wore a white Maria Lucia Hohan gown, that she styled with a Judith Lieber clutch, Neil Lane jewelry and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Kristin Cavallari chose a strapless blue Maria Lucia Hohan gown, for the Marine Corps Ball that took place in November of 2011, in Temecula, California. She accessorized the dress with a gold Chloe belt, and looked radiant at the big event.

Remember the dress Demi Lovato donned at the 2011 ALMA Awards ? This nude Maria Lucia Hohan gown (very similar to the one Stacy Keibler wore), was amongst critics Best Dressed Lists for the event, and had all eyes on a glowing Miss Lovato that night.

Stacy Keibler opted for Maria Lucia Hohan for a second time in 2011, wearing a purple silk mousseline gown, for the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala.

Jenna Dewan showcased a beautiful emerald MLH Sidonie dress, as she walked the Red Carpet for the 2012 Golden Globes. She quickly joined the rest of the celebrities that fell in love with the brand.

At The 2011 American Country Awards, Carrie Underwood looked sweet and flirty, wearing a Maria Lucia Hohan cream cocktail mini dress with a ruffled skirt.

And I am closing this special post, with the Nikki Reed appearance, made in October, at the 2011 Rome Film Festival, while promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. The actress looked divine, wearing a white pleated gown with a plunging neckline, signed MLH.

Cameron Diaz – Christian Dior Haute Couture S/S 2012

Paris is the perfect place to be this time of the year, as this week, big names in fashion introduced their Spring 2012 Haute Couture collections. Cameron Diaz attended the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 runway show, in the front row, wearing what else, but a lovely Christian Dior dress.

The ladylike polka-dot short sleeved dress, channeling the 1960s, was accessorized with a black belt to accentuate the waist, and a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Spring 2012 Cage sandals.

A bobby pinned updo, glossy black nail polish and a bright coral lip color, complemented the retro look.

I must say, this is the best I have seen Cameron look in a long while, maybe because she ditched the tight mini dress for once, who knows ?

Nina Dobrev – Nylon February 2012 Cover

Nylon magazine captured Nina Dobrev‘s both, inner and outer beauty, in the latest issue, for February 2012. Channeling a vintage Vegas cowgirl vibe, the beautiful actress wears a McQ jacket, an Emporio Armani shirt, some adorable Siwy shorts, plus a Erica Weiner necklace, for the cover shoot. And look at that hair, how amazing is it ?

Talking about her passion for movies, Nina reveals she wants to experience it all, from sweetheart, to drug addict roles. And you know what else she’s talking about in the interview ? The love for her pet CATS, no, I didn’t plan this, but as it rarely happens, all falls into place today :) I quote :” I’m gonna say [I am a] ‘cat woman,’ because ‘cat lady’ makes me sound 500 years old… But I love my furry friends. … I’m pretty sure I was a cat in a past life.” And I’m pretty sure all cat lovers think alike.

For more on being famous, her former Degrassi co-star, Drake, and beautiful pictures, don’t forget to pick up the February issue of Nylon. For more on Nina, don’t miss The Vampire Diaries weekly episodes and check back to Oteea Land, as I have a feeling she’s going to be sticking around. Have a beautiful evening/day, girls !

Fashion Crush – Embrace Your Animal Instinct

Embrace Your Animal Instinct” – that was the title of a column I read somewhere in a magazine, back in 2011. And trying to think about animals and instincts, my head was instantly filled with the image of a cute little cat, that’s the best I can do, because, yes, I am a HUGE Cat Lover. For me, they are the best thing ever, but don’t get me wrong, I love dogs almost the same, I love animals in general, with a few known exceptions, but if the “old lady with the 12 cats” story would not have ruined it by now, I would have loved to own maybe just two cats and a dog, and a house big enough not to feel crowded. But that’s a different chapter.

Back to fashion and animal instincts, this year, I have found myself suddenly liking a couple of things, that later became a few things, with cats all over them. So, I guess, now it would be the time to embrace this animal instinct I’ve read about, and even introduce it into my wardrobe. The fun part of all this, is that fashion is showing its affinity for animals of all kinds, making it easier for you to find your animal instinct too, that’s if you haven’ already, as I am a little bit late on this trend. From sharks, cows, dogs, zebras and elephants, you can find almost everything printed on skirts, shirts, shoes, sweaters or dresses.

Let me show you what I’m talking about, because one of these days… I’ll own something “CAT-ified” :

How adorable is this cat motif t-shirt ?

Cat T-Shirt

This cute little bag has cats all over … more than perfect.

Cat Bag

Crazy cat shoes ? Yes, please …

Cat Shoes

Head-to-Toe – I would so wear this look.

Cat Sweater

Cute little paws, sweetness …

Cat Earrings

All the items above, are just a small part of the things I find myself loving today and luckily, I have found all of them on ASOS.

For me, it’s all about cats, but what would you wear on your T-shirt ?

Fashion Nostalgia – The Groovy 1960s

Good morning everybody ! As we are slowly starting off this beautiful but lazy Sunday, I thought we should move forward in our Fashion Evolution Journey. Today I finally made up my mind, the 1950s represent my all time favorite era (especially the late 50s), followed closely by the 1960s and finally adding the 1920s, that’s it, that’s my top 3.

The Groovy 1960s were a colorful decade, filled with mini skirts, leather boots and fake eyelashes.

“The early Sixties era of fashion was new couture at its best. The most influential image was the ‘Jackie Kennedy’ rich, manicured style of elegance. Some of the glamour of the Fifties was retained, though not the satins and silks. To achieve the new manicured smartness we were using grey flannel for evening, making it more feminine with white pique deep-rolling collars holding a single rose. For daywear, textile manufacturers had come up with new plastic-coated clothes, wonderful fine silk crepes and double-faced wools, all of which gave a crisp, carved look… The fashion emphasis was on a clean-cut and swinging look.”Beril Jents Little Ol’ Beryl from Bondi
