Selena Gomez – Pretty Girl Rocks Inspired Look

Selena Gomez somehow manages to always look adorable, no matter if she’s wearing affordable clothes or high-end designs. Practicing a youthful and feminine style, according to her age and own fashion sense, she became an important source of inspiration, for girls all around the world. Today I join this list of girls, by adding a Selena Gomez inspired look, to my Inspirational Files.

The singer wore this lovely outfit on January 26, during the We Own The Night Tour Photocall, held in Mexico City. Bleached shorts + white tank + leather boots and you’ve got yourself a winner combination, perfect for summer, but even during these cold winter days, for some indoor events. The cropped blazer, in a bright and bold color is a must for 2012, and due to its versatility, can be worn in so many different ways.

Easy enough, I think this outfit could not go wrong in any mix of shorts, white tank, leather boots and blazer. Pretty Girl Rocks.

I used : Forever 21Mixed Colors Bracelet; GESTUZ Cropped Peak Lapel Blazer In Coral; Hel Och Ren – Johan Organic Tank White; Jeffrey Campbell‘See-Stars’ Boot; MOTOBleach Splatter High Waist Hotpants.

The boots are the same ones Selena is wearing, they sell for $279.95 and I think they are the most expensive item I chose today. We have to admit they look pretty cool, but at the same time, a  more affordable pair of leather boots, would do the trick.

Blake Lively – Jason Wu for Target Private Launch Event

Blake Lively attended the Jason Wu for Target Private Launch Event on January 26, wearing a modified version of a Jason Wu Spring 2012 look. You might remember this dress, as the original runway version was worn by Michelle Williams, earlier this month, during the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

I love how Blake accessorized the modified black & white peplum dress, according to her own style, wearing it with a pair of Christian Louboutin Fifi Sequined Leopard Pumps.

Beauty wise, Blake opted for a loose low ponytail and a medium pink lipstick, under a coat of sheer shiny gloss. The attitude says it all, the look was a hit, at least according to my taste, as I really like both versions of the Jason Wu dress.

January Favorites

What would a personal blog be, without us sharing personal thoughts, likes and dislikes, dreams and plans ? After two months of almost constant fashion content posting, I’ll try to make a first attempt towards letting you, find a little bit more about me. I do wish in time, for this blog to become friendlier, warmer and more like me, but one thing is for sure, high fashion/red carpet/celebrity fashion will probably never go away, not as long as I will be allowed to write about it.

See, for me, this is a way of expressing myself, as fashion is pure art, when I usually post about all the beautiful ladies, wearing all the beautiful gowns, I see past the media madness. I try to focus mainly on the following ideas: fashion does come to life, bold fashion statements are made every single day, we can find inspiration in almost everything/everyone surrounding us. Because, yes, fashion makes me happy, watching other people enjoy fashion, gives me life appetite, makes me dare for more, dream for more, makes me wanna try new things.

All in all, I do wish to get to write about other stuff too, other stuff like small everyday stories, books and movies I enjoy, food and trips and starting Spring, I’ll even do my best to try and post outfit photos, in a new special category. But until those days will come, I’m still enjoying the winter days and I could start sharing with you, my monthly Favorites, a list that includes everything I loved during a certain month (obviously).

01. Dream House is up until now, my favorite January movie. I loved the storyline (I won’t reveal it here, just in case you haven’t seen it yet), I love the Daniel Craig+Rachel Weisz combo (on/off the screen), I’m still a sucker for romance and happy family stories (up until the point something goes bad), I don’t mind a little bit of drama or ending up in tears at the end of the movie. Dream House was all of that – “There’s happiness in this house, there’s you …” <3 . Mystery/thriller/drama all together.

02. Chocolate … I’ve been a desert type of girl even since I can remember, I don’t care as much about food (I do enjoy lovely meals everyday) but if we’re talking cookies, chocolate, cupcakes or any other type of sweets, I’m all in. I often wonder if I could ever give up on the whole deal, as it would be a lot healthier but…I haven’t got a positive answer yet. This month, I went back to chocolate, after a Christmas filled with home-baked goodies.

03. Braids – Long story short, braids really caught my attention this month, as they seems like such a romantic and beautiful approach. I would love to test all sorts of styles, but unfortunately patience and niggling are not my strongest assets. But I’ll start practicing more …

04. Taylor Swift is my newest girl crush here on the blog, as you might have noticed already. I’m drawn by her girly/youthful/chic off duty style approach, so she will definitely serve as inspiration from now on.

05. Snow usually starts bothering me right about the time December is gone, because usually, starting January I already try to move on and dream about spring and summer. But not this year, this year I enjoyed the heavy snowing part of the month, I got all excited and I’m still waiting to build a snowman.

06. How I Met Your Mother is our new favorite show to watch (recommended by some of our closest friends), and we might be late on the trend, but we are good at catching up (we got up to the third season already). It goes without saying it’s my favorite cozy activity of the month. Some times these simple small things, are the best things.

07. Red Skinny (misspelled in the image above, too bad I’m too tired to change it now) Jeans are my latest must-have item obsession. I’m currently searching for a nice fitted pair, somewhere they must be already waiting for me.

08. Adorable Cats – This month I really, really wished for one, but the desire comes and goes, as I realize I’ll be probably raising one, only by the time we’ll get our own place.

09. Homemade lemonade – By summer time I’ll probably be wishing not to have exaggerated with this drink during the winter days, but it’s quite nice actually. Lemonade and tea, my choice for January.

This post just got way too long as I tried my best to keep it short, but thank you, if you had the patience to read and got to this ending point. I mumbled for an entire week, a week in just pictures would have been better, right? 😀

Diane Kruger – 2012 Sidaction Gala Dinner

This must be my favorite appearance of the week so far, although it’s true, there’s still some time and a big coming event this week-end, that could help top today’s choice.

But until then, let’s focus on admiring Diane Kruger‘s look for the 2012 Sidaction Gala Dinner, that took place in Paris, on Thursday afternoon. Wearing an Erdem Pandora dress from the Spring 2012 Collection, Diane looked A M A Z I N G.

The sheer evening dress, with precious embroidery appliques, had that perfect balance of magic, sexiness and pureness, colored in icy blue. Diane styled the dress using an Alexander Mcqueen Box Clutch, encrusted with gold-metal pebbles and a pair of strappy nude Christian Louboutin sandals.

A pair of flowery statement earrings, straight hair and a metallic eyeshadow, complemented the A+ look.

Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture

I might have slightly mentioned before how MUCH I adore the Elie Saab gowns, and how Elie Saab is by far one of my favorites designers, and how you can’t go wrong with wearing Elie Saab, did I not? Well, that’s enough reason for me, to post a little something about the latest ES Couture Collection, presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, on January 25. Who cares I don’t quite have the time to do this, fashion requires some small sacrifices.

The Lebanese fashion designer presented a signature collection, romantic and colored in shades of ivory and pastel hues (powder blue, mint green, wheat and pale rose), just in time for the Oscars. Can’t wait to see who is going to be the first lady to wear ES Spring 2012 Couture, as she’s going to be wearing sweet Couture dreams.

Below you will find my personal favorites of the show, but to browse throughout the entire collection of dresses, be sure to check Oteea Land on Facebook and of course, Like the page if you find it fashionable enough. XO

Kate Beckinsale – Underworld: Awakening Promot Tour

Kate Beckinsale is currently in Europe, promoting her latest movie, Underworld: Awakening, the fourth of the Underworld Saga, and that’s a reason for celebration, because on her last two stops, the Brit actress looked beyond beautiful. Doesn’t she always, though ?

At the Underworld: Awakening Photocall in Madrid, Kate looked ravishing, wearing a red hot Michael Kors twist-front halter dress. A faux-python collar tops the shoulder-baring neckline of the jersey dress.

The Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps, long curls and a sheer pink gloss, alongside a Kara Ackerman statement ring, completed the elegant look.

Next stop, Germany, where Kate Beckinsale attended the Underworld: Awakening Photocall, at Hotel Adlon, in Berlin. For this occasion, Kate opted to wear a Christian Dior Spring 2012 look. The flirty tulle strapless dress, tied at the waist with a huge bow, had that sort of pretty meets retro vibe, that perfectly matched Kate’s voluminous high ponytail.

Kate kept it simple at accessorizing, wearing just a statement Samira Fine Jewelry triple Baroque Tahitian pearl ring and a dark grey pair of Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe pumps. Sheer pearlescent pink gloss and natural smokey eyes, finished the look. I’ll post a better picture, once the HQ will be released.

Look Of The Week (004) Winner

I love how every week, the number of people who vote on the poll gets a little bit higher, it really makes me happy. This time, Look Of The Week got up to 17 votes (mine included), and I want to thank you all, for taking the time to vote and for caring about these little things.

I’m also excited that Charlize Theron won the poll this week, she really looked amazing in the Christian Dior Couture gown, and I rooted for her. With such a preview at the Golden Globes, I can’t hardly wait for the Oscars in February. But until then, at the end of this month, we will be enjoying the Red Carpet at the 2012 SAG Awards.

Next poll begins on Sunday, XO.
